Don't be a strength of schedule simpleton. That tendency as much as anything else defines the decline of sportsfandom in this era.

The reason so many posters here get caught in the idiotic "run the table" theme every year is that they fixate on the schedule and not caliber of the Miami team. We were not favored by 20.5 versus FIU on our own merit. It was based on theoretical weakness of FIU. That is fragile as ****. It's the reason that it is preferable to give points with truly great teams than against very poor teams.

Once you are betting against then you are inheriting the favorite, even if that team is not much of anything. Meanwhile if you are wagering on Alabama you known **** well you are wagering on Cream and not Crowd. Favored on their own merit...game after game and year after year. It is beyond irrelevant who they happened to defeat this season. If they lose to Auburn there will be plenty of chirping here....Alabama is in decline...who have they beaten? Same familiar mindset that has downgraded Alabama year after year.

We went unbeaten or nearby when our team was great, not when our schedule was weak. Keep that in mind and every season is less bewildering.

because their loss is to the best team in country
I find it an absolute joke that OSU would jump LSU for beating an average PSU team.

LSU has been nearly unstoppable offense, but their defense doesn't have my respect. Source is cfbstats.com;

42nd in scoring defense (Allowed 4+ TD's in 5 games this season)
44th in YPP (they are tied with Oklahoma and FSU at 5.29)
They have a game where they allowed 400+ yards rushing, 2 games where they allowed 400+ yards passing.

On a team-by-team comparison in case someone wants to point to "competition", I'll go ahead and do that for you:

Texas: 2nd most yards against their schedule was vs LSU (530)
Vanderbilt: They scored 24 offensive points vs LSU, which is 2nd only to their 38-0 win against East Tenn St 4 days ago
Florida: 3rd most yards on the season was vs LSU (457)
Alabama: Played 2 games against teams over .500 (TAMU+LSU). Still 4 teams held Alabama under 7YPP, LSU isn't one of em (7.96 against LSU).

I get it, but the Big 10 is a joke and LSU has proven it more to this point IMO.
