Central WR Darnell Salomon has Miami on top, Lol

So all the other schools passing is the only reason why a recruit from Miami Central would be interested in Miami....

Okay

This kid's recruitment has been a circus.

- Committed first degree burglary when visiting Georgia last summer for stealing a wallet & iPhone from the residence of two female UGA athletes. The details from this article were damning: Warrant: Accused football recruit continues to use iPhone he said he didn't steal

- Salomon in January in an interview with the Herald: "I'm always gonna be a UM fan. But it's always about football and where you want to be at the next level. And I don't think UM will take me to that level."

- Then he apparently performed horribly on the camp circuit and had a disastrous showing at The Opening.

It's no surprise that those big time programs that once coveted him have apparently backed way off. But it is surprising that Miami would be showing interest after that UGA incident. Is his talent worth the risk considering how far his stock has fallen over the past 12 months?

Show this kid some love, he is the big elusive WR we have been missing, no need to pay attention to his slow start this season, kid is the truth. Yea the kid made some mistakes but a real coach should feel confident in showing him right from wrong. Yea it starts at home but there is more to it than just football, a good coach can get the best out of kids. I hope we land this kid, staying close to home may be the best thing for him.

"(I plan on taking official visits to) Miami, NC State, Louisville and South Florida," sounds like he will end up at Louisville. There are way to many WR's available in FLorida that offer the same skill sets with a lot less baggage, which is unfortunate for the young man.

It sounds like he mentioning the home town Canes in order to regenerate some buzz in his recruitment hoping that some teams that have cooled on him will take another look.

Go Canes

Okay

Read up on this kid's recruitment. Look at his quote about Miami from earlier this year in my post above this one. Then compare the schools he viewed as his frontrunners as recently as a couple months ago to today.

Salomon's Top 5 at The Opening in July: Alabama (they were recruiting him the hardest at this point), LSU, FSU, Oklahoma, and Texas

The schools to which he plans to take OVs: Miami, NC State, Louisville, South Florida

It's clear as day what's going on with his recruitment after his off-field incident, horrible outings at camps and The Opening, and overall inconsistency. Hopefully he's able to get it together regardless of where he ends up because he is a talented player, but it seems obvious as to why he's suddenly interested in Miami after previously showing zero interest.

kids talented but he has major question marks off the field. also don't trust his hands seen him drop a few passes this year that a kid with his talent should eat up.

Miami needs to sell out for 2016 WR Freddie Swain, here are his early season highlights

Serious question, do we really need a WR with an attitude problem? We have some incredibly talented receivers already committed in Richards, Mullens and Bruce. Richards has good height. And as for the big guys, Njoku and Cager will both be Sophomores next year. I would save that last WR spot for a beast.

do you know our track record with these type of guys? not very good. we had enough attrition with guys like this to build another team. it's not just the slow start that has people cooling on him.

Serious question, while he might have off field issues how do his teammates view him? Unfortunately, Golden has left it where we need to get a foot back in at MIAMI Central :disgust:

Okay

In this case, yes. Kid got caught stealing then lied about stealing the phone. To make matters worse, he took pictures on the iphone he stole. This was not his first incident stealing either.

I would not mind taking 5 or even 6 WRs this class if they are as talented as the ones we already have.
