Central Michigan

I saw a comment on here by one poster where they basically said that if we are not pumped after a win like BCC, then something is wrong with u.

I feel that some fans are not looking at a clear picture. Beating up on one of the worst teams in all of football is no reason to celebrate. If anything, only being up 14-0 in the 2nd qtr and having difficulties converting on 3rd downs while at home, against said team, should have us scratching our heads.

I want to see what we do against a P5 opponent, regardless of record. We should have no problems w CMU. Actually, I would be mortified if we struggle against them. So assuming we smoke them, then my attention will be how we play against the ACC schedule. That’s what I’m anxiously awaiting to see. I’m still not over that loss against UNC.

Exactly. No one should be over the loss to UNC. We’ve got a lot to prove. Let’s see what happens from here on out. All this chest pumping at 1-2, and speculating about which players should be leaving early, man it just doesn’t make any sense.

Jarren is in the path to becoming a stud, and that’s undoubtedly due in part to Enos.

But with a minute left in the first half against Bethune Cookman, we were winning 14-0; and one of those touchdowns was solely because of a combination of blown defensive assignments and our players just being a lot bigger stronger and faster than their players.

The offensive line is pure doo doo garbage trash. Like “worst O Line in college football in the past decade” bad.

There is cause for concern.

Honestly, our o-line isn't nearly as bad as most of our fans seem to think. Now the 2017 FSU o-line was the worst line I have seen at a big time school in a decade. We have so many bigger and more important issues that need to be fixed ASAP.

Look at the structure of our defensive staff. 2 secondary coaches and 2 lb coaches.....we don't even run a 3-4. No full time special teams coach though...

They are also green. How may of them would have a job at another power 5 program if they were fired today?

Enos' and his play action calls, along with Jarren carrying out the fakes even with the entire defense is blitzing......hmm. Where's the audible, or at least kill the play fake. And why don't we run the ball more. It seems were pretty good at run blocking.

Baxa is a subject I need an entire post for, but kickers can be headcases.

Do we always play the better players the majority of the snaps? Who looks better to you Blades or Ivey? G Rous or Patchan? Miller or Bethel?
And why in the **** is Garvin spying qbs and in coverage half the dam time.

Why didn't Clark start week 1 against FL? Why didn't our person in the booth say, Dan, FL knows our snap count lets change or vary it. They were in our backfield before the tackles got out of their stance.

I'll stop there because I don't want to type all morning.

I am only saying this because I care - there are a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market today that are just as tasty as the real thing.

You know, for all the snarky comments like that which you see on here, you’d think we were putting up Oklahoma type numbers.

Averaging 22.5 points per game against P5 teams is not exactly blowing the doors off by today’s standards.

How about we win some **** games before we feel quite so confident about what we’re doing?

Go ahead, neg away.
I agree with you. I think the excitement comes from the potential to improve every week.

I get the concern but the OL isn't as bad as you make it out to be. Notice I never said that they are good but I think they can improve each week and be pretty solid next year.

I'm excited and positive as well, but cautiously so. We just need to see it, and it's going to take week to week doing it on the field.

Looking forward to the rest of the season, but as DMoney said on this week's pod, all margin for error has been removed now. There is reason for optimism, but when we went 0-2, that put this program on the razor's edge and we are now in a week-to-week fight for the life of the program.

W's are all that matters if we ever want to be more than one of 5 programs with a lottery chance to win the Coastal every year. There is no such thing as a good performance in a loss.

Hit stick, bust d!ck.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

I’m in the same mode, losing to UNC was a shocker but I hope it woke up the team. We have to execute out of the gate moving forward or we shall find ourselves in a 14-0 hole before we know it. It’s incumbent upon the players to execute the plan and for the coaches to better gameplan so the players are in a better position to not only execute but excel. We’re coming up on game #4 now, the offense should begin to start humming at this point.

But I’ll take the 1st W if only because it gets the monkey off our backs and shows the kids that hard work and execution pay off. I know it’s nothing to celebrate given it’s BCC but to move forward you have to start somewhere. I’m cautiously optimistic we can continue to improve as we near the ACC slate of our schedule.
