With AB moving on to the NFL( all the best)
Corn Elder is our only proven returning CB.

Corn is one defensive player this defense cant lose due to injury with so many unproven young CBs.

Redwine,Jackson, Knowles and Mayes
along with our incoming class Young,Wright and Henley

And I can see JJohnson getting a serious look at CB.

No Doubt we have talented CBs but their young and not battled tested

Looking forward to seeing what Coach Rumph makes of this unit.

Any thoughts?

i think will be fine. henley is gonna be a redshirt freshman. young to me looks like a nickel back to start. but one thing people should like is almost all the cb's are big 6 feet or taller except young. knowles is a sa fety not a cb.

u didn't really know the cb's at miss state and they were ok. a great pass rush will help cover up for any db mistakes. i think the dbs are young but that doesn't always mean won't do a good job. will see how it works out. they should have much better coaching th is year then last. really can't get much worse then paul williams.

Depth and talent are horrible at CB , no other way to slice to it

Depth and talent.Last count, there were twelve. They now are year older and went thru the system.I'm
sure many of you will say they are mediocre, well if that case should not be at the U.

I see nowhere near 12 scholarship CB on the roster

This is an area of real concern. I don't think Redwine, Jackson, and Mayes are quick enough or fast enough to be very good at CB. That leaves 2 true Freshman, Young and Wright and 1 red shirt Freshman, Henely. One of them may start. We may have no choice. Moving Johnson to CB is an interesting possibility.

LOL at dummies sleeping on Redwine. With the heat Kool will generate, CBs won't have to try to cover in perpetuity like they did under the last maggots.

Simple science. Ask a CB to cover for less time, and they don't all have to be Deion sanders.

How is Redwine not quick or fast enough to play corner but he already played corner last year?

I had Byrd penciled in for 30 interceptions next season, so losing him was a big hit

thanks for the corrections on both henley and Knowles.

i do agree they are young talented and hungry, they just the lack game experience. And I totally concur on a strong pass rush can only help our secondary.

Especially if the CBs are any good at playing man press.

we have height at cb, most of them have some speed. they were cbs in south florida . its not like we got our cbs from nj. redwine, jackson were recruited by some big schools also they weren't golden projects. i think cb play will be better then expected

bama started a true freshman last year. won nc, clemson started mackenzie alexander as a young cb. it happens. we will see if are any good in spring practice and game action but can't be worse then some of the stuff happened under golden.

Id like to agree with you. Let's see if Coach Kool and Diaz can get pressure first. JMO they're going to have to earn their money this offseason turning around a defense that has been below average at best.

Coach Kool and the D Line will be greatly improved, which in turn will help the DBs. You guys don't realize how idiotic the defensive schemes were and how much it negated pass rush.

As a team we will be top 15 in sacks this year, count it

Minkah Fitzpatrick #1 CB - is the true freshmen from Old Bridge, NJ who started and led Bama's secondary in passes break ups with 8 and 2 Ints for Tds.
45 tackles, 3TFL, 2 sacks. 1st team Freshmen AA, SEC 1st team Freshmen.

Minkah had a Miami offer from Golden his Jr year.
