Exactly how I see it.
Not that simple IMO. That was our record in '99 and there were some bad, heartbreaking losses that season but it was clear the way we finished things were moving in the right direction and big things were in store for 2000. Just saying 8-4 doesn't tell the whole story.

With our schedule , our talent vs the opponents then mixing in a really good college qb with a perfect fit offense it would tell a lot. Then mix in the other transfers / kicker.

8 wins after six wins would be another epic failure and might be the nail in Diaz’s coffin. No excuse especially with a special qb like king. Before covid I was told manny needed 9 wins to survive , a lot of people were ****ed, important folks. There was actual talk about moving on last year. Manny and Blake are in sink or swim mode now.

Covid might give him an excuse , and maybe it changed the nine wins talk. But eight wins will tell you everything , if he happens to keep his job with 8 wins he’ll go in to 21 on the same hot seat. Minus covid.

But the jury will have their decision , 8-4 would need world class corching to achieve.

Also 99 was a young team that was improving every year. From 98 to 99, 99-2000 then 2000-2001. Constant improving.

This is nothing alike.

Not sure that's true. I'm looking at guys like Brooks and Blades and Ivey and Harris and Hall and they're just scratching the surface of their potential. But the point is you can't tell everything from Ws and Ls. Take last year's L vs. UF vs. last year's W vs. Central Michigan. Despite opposite results, they were opposite indicators about the direction of the program.

I don’t judge on w’s and l’s. I first judge with what my eyes see. That was not a good football team week one, or any other week..... right up to the bowl. I actually posted after UF “ that’s a bad team”.

If you look like a bad team all year you’ll get what we finished....6-7. It was an awful coaching job. One of the worst coaches teams I’ve ever seen in 30 + years of watching football.

Honestly I don’t think some here realize how huge the qb position disparity is from last year to this year. From physically to leadership , that alone is enormous.

He better pray he wins the Coastal, beats FSU and avoids any FIU losses if he wins only 8 games.

With all due respect If we go 8-4 with that trash schedule is not acceptable. That would be pathetic. That’s not momentum lol.

You rustled my jimmies the first five minutes in. Not bad effort though.

I didn't listen but what person has us losing 4 games with this schedule. They need to put down the mic and go start watching Rugby.

Please don't compare last season's team to this year. It's a completely different offense with Bigtime playmakers.

Agree that 8-4 should get him **** canned, but it won't. After all, this is TNM starring Blake and Manny. Anything short of double digits wins this year in unacceptable.

Anything less than double digits and he'll have to win a championship in 21 to end the calls for his head.

What I said is fans have such high expectations. 10/11 wins is attainable. But if you really want to see the program turn around and move forward for years to come. Number of wins doesn’t matter. That’s why I said 8-4 or 9-3 and change in locker room and culture is fine by me.

I wonder if any team in college football went from a loosing record to double digit wins... someone have that ?

Idk how you say your first comment and then say this, w/l don’t matter. That’s clearly what I said. To physically see a change in culture and the team is more important. And, as long as it’s 8-4 or 9-3 I think that’s ok.

People are crazy to think that we are going to come out of the gates firing with this team.

You say this ^ and then your other comments say different.
D Eriq king hasn’t played since the 2018 season really. That oline has very little constancy I don’t know how fans can feel safe with that group at this moment.
And tell me how much production the WR room has?

Because on paper talent wise we are goood enough.

What I said Was as long as this team has a significant culture change and swing in momentum, I’m okay with 9-3 or 8-4.

I never said I expect this team to go 8-4

If you gave it a listen you would know what I actually said and why I actually have some insight.

I don’t need to listen I’ve been watching this team 40+ years and I know for a fact that this team isn’t losing four games this year. Especially with that schedule.
