Canton, OH.— You know that a new football season has dawned when Miami Hurricanes, new and old, are showing out.

Tonight was no different.

This evening, the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers christened the upcoming 2026 NFL season in the annual Hall of Fame Game, headlined by the QB duel between Carolina’s veteran journey man Kenny Pickett and Arizona’s 3rd round rookie Carson Beck.

Beck, the former #65 overall pick out of Miami shined in his pro debut, going 15/19 for 188 yards and 1 touchdown on a 125.4 passer rating.



To nobody in South Florida’s surprise, Carson was quite impressive, wheeling and dealing in his first taste of NFL competition. Throughout his first start, Beck would excel in the quick game while uncorking the arm for a few deep strikes.

Beck had quite the connection with 4th year veteran wideout Jalen Brooks, who he found at 3 catches for 99 yards, with a long of 49 tonight.



Carson would record his first NFL touchdown against the Panthers, connecting on a 5 yard fade to TE Simi Fehoko in the second quarter.



Carson’s night ended after the first drive of the second half, leaving the Birds fans in Glendale with big smiles on their faces. Tonight’s stellar introduction of Carson Beck should certainly provide some shake in a red hot QB battle down in the desert.

He did *not* have that zip on the ball last season. Clearly he wasn't 100%. Super happy for him now.

He can be a lot more than a SOLID QB. If I had to guess I'd say he has the potential to be a top 10 QB in the league. My concern is how invested arizona will be. Very good chance they draft a QB top 5 this coming draft and he'll never get that opportunity period then. Guess it depends what happens with jacobi
