Carson Beck being overlooked

Carson Beck, compared to the QBs in THIS class isn’t far off from being at the top.

I’m very weary/pessimistic about the outcome of the season due to the wide spectrum that can unfold, but I honestly think that Carson Beck (if healthy) is probably one of the three most consistent variables on the team that will excel. (Offensive Line/Elijah Lofton being the other two).

I don’t believe any QB in 2025 will have more “big game” experience than him and he’ll actually be the most decorated Qb if he starts an entire season.

I don’t believe he is close to Ward or any of the QBs who went round 1 in 2023, but I think if all the pieces mold together, it’s plausible he is a 1st round pick in 2026.

Skillset wise he looks like a lesser-athletic/more decorated Jared Goff when he was out of CAL. He has a very high floor.

I just hope his play can equate to winning games. (Not guaranteed).

This time last year, Beck was considered the #1 overall pick by many people and Ward was maybe a top 5 quarterback at best. Obviously the season changed things but who's to say Beck can't be what Ward was here? Before last year nobody thought Cam would be what he ended up becoming.
If Beck goes on to have a "Ward" like season, Mario is going to be able to pick whatever quarterback he wants as long as Dawson is here.

Beck will do his job against the acc .. Hopefully the defense can do the same this year
I agree.

I think 80% of the season he will play great. The other 20% has a lot of variables. ND/FLA are season altering matchups very early and they make up the 20%.

Team/Beck will need to be steady from opening tip.

As far as goals, Beck playing well doesn’t solely equate to outcome of victories.

I think Ward was as unique a prospect as any the last 10-15 years.

He simply has been overlooked for no logical reason since HS.

I saw him live against USC at wazzu and he completely matched Caleb Williams throw for throw with even lesser options.

The Media and team outcome failed him. He simply was the most dynamic player at QB the minute the 2024 QBs went to the NFL.

No need to compare in that regard for me. Situation is everything. Ward shatters record if he suits up for OSU/ORE/ND last year with their systems/reliable coaching on both sides.

I think Beck is similar to Jared Goff prospect wise. Not as athletic but more decorated and successful with his teams at UGA.

I don’t believe nor doubt he is incapable of going #1. He could very well be a top 5 pick next year with the OL he’ll have.

Matt Ryan went #1 with a 7-5 BC team. And he was a helluva NFL player. Beck is built similarly.

I don't think he's being overlooked at all but maybe the opposite since he is following Cam Ward and the 2025 UM football team is relying on him big time.

Just hope he is really developing chemistry with a few of the WR's .... like Ward did.

Number one, he’s healthy and throwing the ball, so please stop saying “ if he’s healthy” BS because he’s healthy and anything other than that is BS! Also, he is extremely athletic and arguably more athletic than Cam was and he’s definitely more athletic than Jared Goff. You are wildly underselling Beck here, I question your ability to identify a quarterback’s talents, if that’s what you think of Beck.

This isn’t any earth shattering news, but Carson Beck, like almost any other QB, is MUCH better from a clean pocket than not.

UGA’s OL was not good last year. We should keep him a lot cleaner this year. When he’s clean, he can really play.

The interior of their OL got hurt and then it all fell to ****

Good.

Additional motivation.
Hope he stuns every so-callled "expert'.

Nah beck is more straight line. He doesn’t have the lateral movement and elusiveness cam has

Better OL at UM, will help Becks draft stock, easily.
