the players are to blame to some extent for sure but sick and tired of this dude who has a 80 million dollar contract blaming everyone but himself after these blowout losses in the post game pressers

he has been an ineffective leader and never has them up to play. manny diaz did. **** although we had some massive blowouts towards the end of their tenures, even coker, shannon, and golden weren't consistently blown out like we have been this year

glad it's over and glad that we aren't on national telelvision at least for the next 9 months

I honestly don’t give af who he blames it on. He can blame it on CIS for all I care.

Hire the right OC (and Maybe DC, we’ll see), kick the tards and quitters off the roster, and bring in 20-30 new guys. Then I’ll judge

Why is it so hard for people to assign fault to more than one party? Why can’t Mario and the players both be at fault?
for a HC to go on a podium and blame players weekly is just disgraceful

own it like every other coach in the country and handle the issues in the locker room

Steele a hard one for me cause we weren't good on defense last year either. It doesn't help when the offense can't put up any points. I'm neutral on the DC side.

Exactly. Our dejected fans hanging on coachspeak is as sad at this entire season.

As if anything could be said in postgame pressers or with Joe Rose to make 5-6 feel better.

Getting back to work is the only thing Mario says that matters. Dude has always been a tireless worker and he has no quit in him.

Flush this trash season and move on.

How does this address my comment?
your comment was completely off topic

the thread is just the frustration in that he blames the players publicly

your comment is referring to who's actually to blame... that point is irrelvant. He's the head of the program, even if the players are to blame he should be a man and handle it like every other power 5 coach in the nation does, behind closed doors

“It’s on me. The entire season”

“Coach, if a player has underperformed to this degree, he would not have his scholarship renewed. Will you hold yourself to the same standard?”

“What are you asking?”

“Will you step down?”

“What? No! That’s ridiculous.”

“But you said it is on you. Where is the consequences?”

“Next question!”

This wasn’t even a team… clusters of clicks is more of the term. No TEAM gets bullied they stick together and win and lose together but always grow in some form. Not this group of kids.

A lot of players AND coach’s have no business returning next year. That’s why Mario makes the big bucks. Make the call on who that is and put your money where your mouth is. Own the mistakes so you can own the success. Ask Saban, or any of the top coach’s. Blame game doesn’t work long term

@Cribby hit the nail on the head a couple weeks ago when he said the staff was assembled like a fantasy football team.

We brought in a bunch of mercenaries whose better coaching days are behind them. To make matters worse, it seems like none of them are on the same page come game days.

I think Mario has the drive and passion to turn this thing around. He just needs to bring in a young, energetic staff to do the same.

Mario has passion but I don’t think he has the coaching acumen to right the ship quickly. Nothing in his demeanor or in his comments suggest this. He’s built a coaching paper tiger and that’s it. It’s a complete dumpster fire
