Didn't matter at all. We moved up because Auburn lost, and the prospect of us being jumped by a team behind us went out the window when 2 of the three teams behind us lost and the other is dormant PSU. Same reason it looked like UNC sky-rocketed up the poll for beating unranked BC, when it reality if was just the three teams ahead of them (same three teams) cleared out.

Same thing, they didn't really jump, teams ahead of them lost. If they had stayed in their same position that would have meant they "dropped."

I get the anti Pac-10 and Big 10 bias, and I am wholeheartedly in favor of that, but just keep in mind that those schools are already lower than their talent level because some voters are leaving them off. Oregon and OSU will jump up higher in the polls after they play their first game.
