Just going leave this here.. not an expert ..just saw a pattern as every truly change of momentum in the program has happened at the end of a decade every 20 year. I am not going to predict anything but It is something curious to look at if you like numbers and trends
First Act - Howard (late 70’s) - we all know the story, the father, the first, brought program to life and glory ( this stage is the best as we kept the momentum going with great coaching follwing him)
Second Act - Butch (late 90’s) -20years later - we all know the story - brought the program from death - set it up to greatness
Third Act - Diaz (late 2000 teen’s) - 20 years later - change - energy is back -the it - it feels different -yes this story is yet to be seen
Yes, I am a Diaz fan and yes I think he will do great things at the U.. how great? Don’t know!
But you can see the similarities, the energy of the 3, the way they recruit, the drive for greatness, the sudden change of energy, the swag in their own way, the personality, the start when everything was lost and yes more of less the 20 years apart when everything started at the end of a decade
Yes, they all were in the 40’s when they took over.
