In my opinion we would be in better shape today if Shannon had not been replaced by Golden. What are your thoughts

My thought would be that Shannon couldn't recruit as "well" as Golden, but attrition numbers wouldn't have been so poor. Of course, their would be no pillars or dodgeball, so... There's that. It's tough to say, really. Randy was at least a former Cane who had some idea of Miami culture.

was adamantly against this a couple years back, but I think UM would of been better off taking the shapiro bomb with shannon as it gave golden the leverage to parlay it into an extension. especially given the fact that they are a push in terms of coaching and Im starting to lean more shannon because he proactively tried to upgrade his sytaff as things were crumbling

Hiring Shannon was a mistake. And the subsequent hiring of Golden was an equally painful mistake. This fan base is starving for competency, or anything remotely close to it.

Donald Trump sent a letter to university president Donna Shalala this week, suggesting the Hurricanes hire Leach to replace the departed Randy Shannon. Leach and Trump have been friends for several years.

"It'd be fun" to coach at Miami, Leach told The Associated Press.

If they would have given Shannon one more year, he still would have been fired, but we may have avoided Golden and landed someone competent
