Here are the most listed names, along with the number of times they won 10 or more games as a HC:

Chip Kelly: 6 (4 Oregon, 2 Philly)
Chuck Pagano: 3 (Indy)
Mike Gundy: 3 (with #4 coming right up)

Mark Richt: 9
Justin Fuente: 1 (with #2 coming right up)
Tom Herman: 0 (with #1 coming right up)

Mario, Schiano, Mullen, and Butch are the only Head Coaches to have been coach for more than 4 years with only one 10+ winning season.

Chip Kelly and Patterson have the greatest % of 10 win seasons on their total record, with Pagano next.

So the best team in the history of college football was built by a lousy coach who could barely win games?

None of those dudes had to deal with extreme sanctions and 10+ players suspended from their best team

I didn't realize something could be "devoid" of circumstances. Interesting.......I think you mean "without context".....

But here's the thing. I don't care about context. You know why? B/C context is most often used to excuse underperforming. If I had a dollar every time I heard someone say "but it was Temple!" or "Coker left a mess", I could afford to buy Chip Kelly.

I'd like to hire a coach this time where you don't have to apply caveats to excuse lack of production.

So thanks for correcting me.. just because you didn't like the words i used... even though you understood me completely. ok, smart guy.

Your logic is silly. The same context or excuses that can tarnish a coaches image can also uplift another. that's why circumstances are key.

Circumstance-a fact or condition connected with or relevant to an event or action

EXAMPLE: COACH a GOES 13-0 IN THE CAA

coach B goes 11-2 in the sec...

Who do you hire?

dont drink and post...its sometimes just as dangerous as drinking and driving. While you wont kill anyone, you do make others dumber after they read your posts
