Myth #1: This Team(fill in the blanks) plays Nobody
Reality: Team Nobody has done very well in NIL/Portal era. Some examples are Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Indiana Hoosiers currently undefeated, VT beating NC state and Virginia beating FSU. The list can go on and on.
Fact: CFB has become more like the NFL in that teams can pay their players and these teams that were once considered "nobodies" have enough 4 and 5 star players on their rosters to upset the more elite teams. It doesn't mean that Team Nobody can win the NC because they can't. But they can beat a NC contender on any given Saturday (look up ND and NIU and Vandy beating Bama). Saying that we play "Nobody" good after FSU is fools gold. They said the same last year after the FSU win and we lost 3 times. Either show up every game or get ready to lose. There are no easy games anymore in any conference that includes the ACC!
Myth #2: Team fill in the blank is mad because they lost and that makes the very dangerous.
(the most current version of this myth is FSU after losing to Viriginia.)
Reality: FSU has lost 11 games since the start of 2024. If losing would somehow motivate you to win FSU would be National Champs becauuse few teams have lost as many games as they have since last year.
Fact: The most important thing that makes a team "dangerous" are the results they actually achieve on the field not their emotions. Most games will be decided between the Jimmy's and the Joes's along with X's and the O's. Feeling mad or looking for revenge are just temporary feelings that go away and have little to do with actual results.
All of these myths and narratives are just clickbait. Don't buy into the hype. The FSU game won't be easy. Playing a bunch of Team Nobodies after FSU also won't be easy. But if this current team is what we think it is or can become we will be in the playoffs.
