Change is necessary in this spot. The coach is the priority regardless of the commits but how many of them are tied to Golden?

The recruiting class has slipped from the top to #11 but guys like Bruce, Mullins, Quarterman, and Allison are still vital to the success of the program moving forward.

Personally, I think that Butch can bring these same recruits (and more) into Miami if he's given the proper amount of time this offseason. He can definitely convince the boys to ride with him into the promise land.

who the **** cares? One recruiting class means nothing at this point. This program is on life support.

If we get Butch, he will evaluate talent and to tell you the truth, if he picks up a 2 star from Indiana you can bet that kid will be good.
He just understands what talent he needs to win.
Trust in Butch ( if the BOT have any brains)

Chudzinski, Dorsey, Cristobal, Kevin Beard and the return of Mike Barrow....................

YES!

I think any new coach will retain and build upon if hired during the season. Also please give up the Butch fantasy. You are just setting yourself up for disappointment because Butch will not be hired.

Butch is respected everywhere he goes, if he comes in the high school coaches will help Miami

The earlier the new coach is in, the better the chance of keeping the class. The bot/Blake needs to be decisive. The time is now.

At this point this staff has become so toxic, just the act of firing them will help get more recruits!!

Depends on who the coach is. Most of the recruits are in wait-and-see mode. They all knew there was a good possibility of him getting fired when they committed. The stars are going to wait to see what happens during the season and for the coaching change for as long as they can hold out without losing other opportunities. From we all have read and heard, not many Duke Johnson's and Dionte Mullins type guys in this class who want to be at Miami regardless.

What convinces you the CURRENT coach can retain this recruiting class?

Winner Winner chicken dinner. There is NO,ZERO, NONE positives to keeping Golden for the remainder of the season. Focus on the next recruiting class and next year!

Any recruit who is committed to the U BECAUSE of Al Golden is not a true Cane. Good riddance. There is literally NO RISK in making the change now.

Agreed, fire Al early enough and hire the right guy you can retain most if not all of this class.

The best thing Al did was sign some of the leaders of this class like Allison, Shaq and Pinkney to GIAA. The next coach will have unlimited access to these kids allowing them to develop a relationship. Once you have these kids on board with the new coach, get them to sell his vision to other recruits.

You're right, it is a fantasy, because our BOT sux and they don't care about winning. I just hope and pray that every dime that goes toward this school for the football program dries up and blows away in the wind like dust. Whoever Butch does coach, if they play us, will humiliate even more, if that's possible.

It doesn't matter because the current coach won't be able to retain the class even if he survives.

More faith in a new coach retaining it than having the same coach try to retain after 6-7 wins again.
