how Miami received sooo many penalties first half, that other team nearly 0 penalties; that other team received penalties 2nd half and Miami received much less? According to Michael Yo, those ACC refs have been i 5 upset games this year. I find that interesting.

Look at the penalties and what they led to….and who the culprits are

First half
1st and 10 Personal Foul - Cici (3&o) - 1st offensive play of the game
1st and 10 Personal Foul - Tony (3&o)
1st and 10 false start - Bell (INT)
4th down delay of game - Tony (bull **** call they took away a big return, FG)
2nd and 5 holding - Daniels (FG)

Second half
Kickoff holding - Chase Smith (3&o)
3rd and 2 false start - Pancake (FG)
3rd and 1 holding - Fletcher (INT)
3rd and 8 false start - Lofton (INT)

summary
9 penalties - 8 on offense, 1 on specials
Procedural: 4
Personal fouls: 2
Holdings: 3
Penalties on OL/TEs: 4
Penalties that ended in TO/Punt: 6

Besides the Mali fair catch BS, all of our penalties were holds or OL procedural penalties. Who is teaching our players how to block? It’s not like we have an entire philosophy based on blocking and physicality. Who is responsible for our players to hold their water procedurally (especially at home!!!)….mystery

This is the big picture stuff to me. Our team is based on rugged OL play and yet our inability to stay still up front or block without getting flagged is killing us every season at some point

I think the big picture thing is our offense can't score a touchdown when we commit a penalty (either on the punt/ko return or on offense during the drive). Our margin of error on offense is miniscule.

It’s partly why this conference can’t be taken seriously and will eventually burn to the ground.

Did we deserve a lot of those calls, for sure. But you mean to tell me UL had no penalties in the 1st half? There were a few that was clear as day on the tv watch through out the game that they just flat out didn’t call that happen right in front of refs.

Refs is bad all over.. but ACC refs seem to be openly helping change the outcome of games.. and it’s no coincidence to me it got way worse when gambling became legal throughout.

I’ll say it.. a real conference like the SEC protects their interest and the top teams and make sure the refs aren’t the reason they lose
