Can anyone shed light on this?

Don't understand why he's even considering going pro. Come back refine your skills get bigger and stronger. Somebody better tell him to ask Tommy Streeter what happened a few years back. Huge mistake if he leaves.

Saying that Beard has his trust and doesn't want a 3rd position coach in 4 years

i figured he was lobbying for Beard to come back. Beard is a great coach. but Richt seems to go with guys he trust more then what the players wants. he is an SEC type mentality. f the players its about the program and winning.

Coley would be making a mistake going pro. He's a big year away from working his way into the first 2 rounds.

If Richt is scoring his WR coaching options right now, Beard has to get a few "bonus points" on his resume for 1) being a key reason why Stacy Coley stays and 2) potentially being a key reason as to why Sam Bruce sticks with UM.

WR depth aside, Coley and Cager on the outside + Bruce in the slot + Njoku coming off the line is just insane to think about from a matchup perspective. Not to mention we have two of the best receiving backs in the game today with Yearby and Walton.

I think the way he is handling this exemplifies the EXACT issue with Coley overall....its his head.

Everything else about the kid is all good...and I hope he stays. But the simple fact that he'd still be toying with the idea of going pro knowing he has a DAY 3 grade is silly. If he is, in fact, lobbying for KB to stay, it's pretty risky to start off your relationship with CMR and his new staff by playing games like this. If the kid just keeps his head down, works his *** off and makes himself a showcase for the NFL, he'll be riding high!

If he leaves (which he won't as this is all part of the look at me generation posturing....news where there is no news) he'll be lucky to see the 5th round even with a great combine. More likely he's undrafted.

I understand wanting to go out and get his money, but he could use another year to raise his stock

It's time to grow up a little. The pro's are all business. You don't have a choice there either on who your WR coach will be. He needs to do the smart thing to FATTEN his empty wallet which is...shut up, gets strong as F this offseason and come back and kill it. It's all about getting round 1 and 2 money. That's life changing immediately... The other rounds are just about trying to get into the league and getting a big second contract which is even harder than getting in because you have to be productive at the NFL level, not the college level.

It's much more advantageous to come into the league as a 2nd/3rd round pick rather than a 6th/7th round pick.

They forgot the next part of the sentence......and he wants to see who the new WR coach.
