He's not the guy, gentlemen.
Don't want to hear the excuses.
"Well, if we had our safeties in the first half, we would've won!"
No, we wouldn't have. Face hard fact. Poor adjustments, poor playcalling (wtf was that run on 3rd and 6 after two timeouts??) And what the **** was three man rush Cincy had against 5 of our guys and they still made a play?! WTF?
We were only down a TD at the end of the half.
Ignore the penalties. Ignore the two missed field goals. If you team is good, you fight through that.
We're not there, and we're not going to be there with Al Golden at the helm. He is our Jerry Faust (Notre Dame coach, look him up, a lot of parallels there). Might be a good guy, a decent coach, but he has no business as a big Division I school coach. He would've been much happier and successful at Temple.
If you want an occasional 9 win season, Al Golden is your guy.
What sucks is that we will now have to wait another 3 years if he fired this year to make the regime change.
I really wasn't on the fire Al Golden bandwagon this year (I wanted to wait the season out, give the guy a chance he could do it), but he can't. He's not gonna get it done here. There are no excuses, and overall, it was a pitiful performance.
Still don't like the banners, but I agree with their message.
