Here’s why the Board may go with Butch.

He’s a master recruiter. Dabo and Saban can drop bags; the U can’t, so we need someone who can outwit the big football combines. Butch showed that he can.

He will also work for half of what Mark did, with incentives, allowing the BOT to spend money on our three big needs: an innovative OC, a Jimmy style DC, and a No Prisoners S&C Coach who will bring our guys level with Bama.

I think he may be the leading candidate for these reasons alone: he allows the Athletic Department to right the ship and spend money on the assistants.

That said, I prefer the Pirate.
