Butch Davis and Manny…

Honestly I am tired of the coaching changes. Every two or three years we start asking for new coaches and we have an administration who has failed to deliver a quality candidate in over 15 years.
I don’t think firing Manny is the correct answer. And I also know that our administration is not letting anyone in the A.D. department go anytime soon.
As much as I love Butch Davis he is also not the answer at Miami anymore. He has failed at his last few jobs and is no longer a college football head coach. I expect him to be released at the end of the season from FIU. That being said he still has a lot of knowledge and wisdom that he can teach Manny a few things. It will never happen due to some bitter apple’s at the helm but would it work to bring him in as an football advisor and help train Manny and they put their two brain cells together to create a competent staff and recruit the best kids.
Miami will never have a bad man. Point blank. The troll Donna was so worried about institutional control she controlled his program into the ground. Everybody scared of their own shadow and there’s no longer any fun can be had at the University for fear of sanctions and punishment.

Due to this there’s a lot of student athletes that we all miss out on because just being in the city of Miami is not enough to lower the top candidate anymore. While we have the most beautiful campos and geographical location of any college in America the fact these kids want to see dollar bills will never change. Our bag game is weak and so is our mindset.

I can't disagree with most of what OP says, I will, however, state that Butch is worthy of another shot. He is older for sure, but Butch at Miami was magic both time and maybe he can pull it off again. Even taking off my Butch blinders, fact is that the Miami administrator has proven that it will never hire another coach good enough to bring back our glory -- they want to avoid that very thing at any cost. Since we will be stuck with never ending procession of easy choice losers, why not get Butch. If you can convince the administration he is a loser, then they might just make a mistake and hire the man.

Manny is going to get at least 3 seasons maybe even 5 going by the past . That kinda takes Butch out of it. Miami has to find an up and coming guy because he will be less expensive. Like Stoops turning it over to Lincoln Riley. The jury is still out on Manny can he recruit will be the answer.
 
If I cant have Butch, give me Mark Stoops, his K Wildcats would kick our *** up and down the field right now. who woulda ever thought that. He had our DB's on point and bringin pain when he was here and is very familiar with the way Caneball should roll

If he were able to go 9-3 or 10-2, he could recruit.
He goes as it looks like it is going....

Hire Butch as co-head coach. Let Manny learn from him and do the tasks that Butch doesn't want to. Then, once we have developed, Butch can ride off in the sunset a success and Manny's decade of dominance can begin.

If we need Butch to do all this, what the **** do we need Manny for? Just hire Butch Davis in that case and when he retires, replace him with someone else.

Lol at Butch "STILL" has alot of knowledge...Yeah...All of a sudden he forgot how to evaluate....
 
At this point, I don't want any other coach but Manny. I want him to get his shizz together, continue being cutthroat this offseason with every aspect of the team, and for the love of all that is holy, put together a consistently average OL. Not dominant, not even "good". If we have an OL better than 64 other D1 schools, that's an almost automatic 10 win season. That's how bad things have slipped here.

Manny doesn’t have it.

You seen how undisciplined this team is. Most penalized in America, don’t know the **** playbook, etc.

The players clearly don’t respect this staff. Recruits don’t either, judging by our ranking.

Manny is too much of a nice guy. He has the temperament of someone who should be running a bank, not a football team. He’s a pushover.

Honestly, UM needs someone like Greg Schiano running this team. Someone who will not allow himself to be disrespected.

They walking all over Manny. Reminds me of Larry Coker before the FIU brawl.
