Miami freshman wide receiver Sam Bruce suffered a non-football leg injury last night, sources tell CanesInSight.com. Miami confirmed this morning that Bruce is "out indefinitely" with a "lower extremity" issue.

A source told CanesInSight that Bruce suffered the injury while playing pickup basketball on campus. Bruce was facing a two-game suspension after serving the first game against FAMU.

In case y'all were wondering, with current injuries we are rolling into our next few games with around 66 scholarship players; about 3 scholarships more than an FCS program can give.

IF he is out for year i hope it's not a ligament injury. Broken bones as evil as that sounds is the better injury to have. If playing basketball ankle injuries most common.

If there was any doubt that this team/program is cursed, then that doubt can be erased because this is a blessing in disguise. He needed to redshirt anyway.

We will be fine. I was excited to see Bruce play but coley, Richards, berrios, Harris, Lewis, Mullins, langham are more than enough to get the job done and then you throw in the tight ends.

Colbert and Jenkins should be coming back soon and we have a bye week we are going to be ok

Bruce should of known better. Hopefully it doesn't have a maclom Lewis effect

How do we have only 66 scholarship players? Our probation entailed only 3 players a year for 3 years, right? I guess we must have self imposed scollies before the NCAA came down on us and couldn't make them up?
