Bruce Feldman calls out Golden on "The Audible"...

I think its a pipe dream that Folden leaves for another gig. He aint walking away from 2 Million plus a year.

You can drag the curser and fast forward Caniac

Summary is that they think Al is a bad fit for Miami might be ok somewhere else but he has lost the fan base and players support. They were pimping Mario as a possible replacement, strong recruiter with HQ experience, time served under Saban a plus etc

So Mario would definitely like to get back to Miami. I'm not sure if he would be well received. We gave him an assistant HC job after he got canned at FIU and he bolted for Tuscaloosa 5 to 6 weeks later. I know it was to go to work for Saban, but still we hired him no hard feelings. He did ***** all over his alma mater when he was at FIU. He is starting to get the pedigree. Played for Dennis, GA'd for Butch, coached for Schiano, coached for Saban. He can recruit. Really wish he had coordinator time.

Product on field terrible, get pushed around if they play anyone good, Golden was a bad fit at Miami, good organizer but not the right fit, mentions Cristobal, Chud, Schiano as possibilities. Mentions Randy as a Miami guy that failed but he had terrible OCs (Nix). Mentions Cristobal again (takes shot at Pete Garcia as most incompetent AD in FBS). Says he doubts Miami is ready to pull the trigger. Former players already don't want Golden. Golden tried to leave last year to PSU but couldn't. People would be happy if Golden gets another job. They advise Golden to get out while he again, says former players hate him, fans have lost faith in him and DS is his biggest supporter and is leaving so he should leave before he gets fired.

I don't see OC in his future any time soon.

Heck, if UM hired Don Keyholio and his legendary tales back, I'm sure they'd hire Mario back.

And maybe he will. Sure he'd get a nice hefty buyout, but I'm sure he realizes how damaging to his career it can be if he gets fired.

That list Feldman threw out there is horrible. Hiring from a list like that is exactly why we have been stuck in this crap fest for a decade.

When you say former players, is it players that played before he got here or his former players? Or both?

You don't need a genius to win here. Great So FL recruiter and aggressive coach. Golden is neither

I don't know if mario could turn things around, but there are so many better options out there. I just don't understand why his name was being thrown around. For ***** sake if Golden is gonna get fired then lets look at all candidates, reach out to ones that people think are a long shot and see who the best one is.

Unlike Golden, at least Benedict Cristobal is actually a great recruiter.

But I would have a lot more options in front of him.

Feldman and Maisel just said former players, they did not specify

I get that the older players hate him - he has **** all over our tradition of being a dominant football team. What would be even more telling is if the kids who played for him want him gone too.

I wouldn't mind a staff that featured Mario and Coley as assistant head coaches (or something like that). I'll save my full opinion for another time, though. Time is lacking for me right now.

Wasn't Golden a break from the short list of those with Miami ties?
