On Thursday morning, Malik Reneau announced his return to Miami on social media after the NCAA granted him an injunction in local court, making him eligible for the upcoming season.



Reneau appeared in all 35 games for the Miami Hurricanes, leading the team in scoring with 18.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks per outing. He was efficient, shooting 54% from the floor and 34.7% from behind the arc.

A former top-40 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. He originally committed to the Indiana Hoosiers out of high school over the likes of Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, Seton Hall, Memphis, and Arkansas.

Reneau entered his name into the NBA Draft after a remarkable first season with Jai Lucas at Miami. Although hewent undrafted in the draft, he spent time with the Orlando Magic during this past Summer League.

I think the NCAA has a small chance of reversal but I don't see any forfeiting coming into play. Playing him is legal, until it isn't (which likely will not happen). Worst case -- have to stop playing him.

I wonder if we are 'clarifying' any of this with Phillips or the NCAA or .,.. just running with the Judge's ruling. Hope it's the latter.

This is easily a 25 wins team this year

We won 26 games last year with zero depth. We had nobody at the D1 level behind Ernest and Malik. On paper this is the best depth roster we have ever rolled out to start a season. Yes, the OOC is tougher, but this lineup is stacked. We actually match up well against Florida. Tough ask first game but for us it will be more of a chemistry issue against The Gator. We get Louisville, Duke and North Carolina on the road, but Duke and North Carolina are in February. Sets up nicely if the chemistry is clicking.
