What gets me is that UM constantly gets suckered into these foolish contracts. I remember reading an interview of Tom Jurich, perhaps the best AD in college athletics (University of Louisville's AD) where he said that he never agrees to contracts with buyout clauses. He feels that the university has the right to terminate someone for poor performance without penalty. Whats more interesting is how well he's been able to backfill coaching vacancies with top quality candidates.

Simply put: UM is doing it wrong!
