boss moves

The plan was to make the move at some point last year. Probably similar to what happened in 1999 with Dorsey, but we started winning and the coaches were able to hide his weaknesses. Bringing in the freshman would have been giving up on last season and from all reports Perry wasn't ready. At Pitt we Rosier just didn't show up, but we also had a ton of injuries last season including our three best offensive weapons at the end of the season. Going into this past game with a guy that had never taken a snap against an SEC defense would have been even more disastrous than what we saw Rosier isn't the answer, that's obvious. The problem is you all want to believe that somehow Richt doesn't know something that the armchair quarterbacks on this site do. If Richt is playing its because he gives us the best chance to win. It's a scary thought but it's reality. There's no reason to not go with the best option.

I highly doubt someone else could have done worse than rosier if so then we’re completely focked

So it’s on cmr for trotting him out there

Mork Rich is a fraud snake oil salesman.

Gettin paid gettin paid!

If it's dumb to set the record straight then so be it, but to some non-mouth breathers facts do in fact matter.

By all means carry on with the 2 or 3 versions of your same post ad nauseam. I will ignore and look to the other posters to learn from and interact with going forward.

God Bless.

I think you got confused at the part where you thought I gave a fvck about you.

I agree Richt's defensive hires, except Coach Kul, have been very suspect. Completely agree. Davis' last staff in 2000 at The U makes Richt's defensive team look like high school coaches. Which ironically some were as recently as a few years ago.

Schiano IMO is a better DC than Diaz. Everyone's disappointment after Sunday's loss creates a revisionist history that Schiano was some guru. His defenses at Miami in 1999-2000 were great against most crap teams but there were games where his defenses faltered. 2000 vs Louisiana Tech - gave up 31 points. This is game that cost the Canes a shot at Oklahoma. The defense blew a 17-0 lead on FSU, only to be rescued by Ken Dorsey. And still gave up enough yardage for a potential game-tying 50 FG. Fortunately FSUs kicker was as talented as Miami's punter.

Tampa Bay (Bucs fan here) was stupid to hire Schiano. Bad move andproven quickly. This only means Schiano saw the Glazer family as an easy mark.

The past is always better in our memory. Schiano might not have been worthy but he reached the highest level of his profession like others from Butch's staff. The key is that Butch had the eye for players and coaches. I never heard anyone call Butch a good man and I hold that a good thing at this point.

I have to beg to differ here.
Morgan blitzed because they went max protect and the running back shifted left giving Morgan an open lane. Which wasn't a bad read on his part as he almost got to the QB. However Reed's drop was too shallow and he was not able to recover in time. Reed loved to read the QB and became quite good at it, but he got caught creeping there. He even said so during an interview that he learned from that one play and became the safety he would become because of it.

The 50 yard run play you are correct that Jennings is the main culprit as he overpursued outside, the Mike got foolishly chopped down by the right guard, and Knowles sucks. But we telegraphed the blitz and the QB audibled into the inside zone with the entire o-line shifting left away from the blitz. Diaz has to coach the team to check out of plays when necessary. If the blitzer would have backed out we'd have one extra body than they could block to hopefully make the tackle.

Go watch the replay. It was not max protection on the play. Penn State went tight twins right, tight end left, with Fields split out wide left. All 4 went out. The back had pass pro on the backside. Morgan didn't read. You can see him creep forward and he was going all the way. It was a very aggressive call and we got caught. Thompson made a perfect pass.

I don't disagree that Diaz has to coach them to check out of the play. Not sure why Shaq and Jaquan didn't. That being said Jennings didn't over pursue. He took himself completely out of the play. Should have been no more than a relatively short pick up. I'll give up 4 yards and 2nd and 15.

"What's past is prologue;" Ole' Billy S had it right, 20 years ago is the template, but Richt is too impotent to act on the lessons of history.

I don’t disagree.
