The reason Manny effing Diaz is the head coach of this program is the fake-thug lame *** childish turnover chain.

That’s right, the chain is lame. And here’s the thing: it always was. It’s like rich Ivy League white guys listening to rap— a safe way to pretend to be gangster. We have created a culture of pretend ballers, pretend dons. And the fans ate it up, bc there are some people so dumb that they think acting like a gangsta is why Miami owned college football for two decades.

And as a result, a mediocre journeyman DC had created a marketable sellable branding item that the admin loved and monetized. And he himself was lauded for his “understanding Miami culture”. Wtf does that even MEAN? Yes everyone understands Miami used to be great and used to be brash—the great part stopped about 15 years ago and the brash part stopped almost 25 years ago.

So the moron fans and the moron BOT, based on a dumb, lame, Disneyland type prop, fell in love with Manny Diaz, who cannot coach a LICK, and they were so smitten with him, they didn’t interview anyone else.

The 2001 team had no chain. It would beat any Manny Diaz coached team by 50. **** the chain, and **** you if you think it has any place on our sideline.

retire all chains, till we play like a team, man we look awful..... always come out sleepwalking
entire staff needs to be reviewed as this group looks as sad as all staffs since Butch Davis left.

I’d rather blame what is actually getting us beat:

Terrible personnel deployment
Awful defensive philosophy
Bad defensive leverage and positioning
Poor tackling
Bad coverage and recognition skills
Undisguised stunts and ridiculous blitz packages
Pathetic technique on both lines
All time high lack of discipline and situational awareness
Unimaginative offensive scheme
No team identity
No focus on special teams
Playaction heavy sets without the personnel to do it
Unprepared and disinterested players
No leadership
No game management
4 years of recruiting misses

After that, yeah sure. I’ll blame the chain

The chain got this coach and his D-2 staff hired.

It worked when it first came out and it did get in opposing teams heads. It doesn’t work anymore because the turnover gimmick has been copied and thus rendered useless. I’d retire it except for home big games but with the caveat that we were winning and at least considered a good team. This jewelry on a 2-3 team headed for 3-9 strikes me as just weird and somewhat lame.

The rings need to be thrown in the trash.

i blame Blake and B of T.

instead of spending $$$ on a real coach and taking the time to find the right coach, we went to the jewelry store to buy some smoke and mirror swag.

shame on us for buying into nonsense and TNM.

its same old Miami. nothing new to see here.

im ashamed of my Alma mater

See here’s the problem. I don’t think it ever “worked”. In fact I know it didn’t.

Props and fake bravado don’t create good football teams.

The 80s and 90s Canes didn’t have some coach fabricate their swag. It was organic, and just a natural byproduct of destroying uptight old guard conservative fans’ squads.

It is incredibly incredibly lame and cheesy. A nerd who never played football who grew up with a silver spoon is the one who came up with the idea. It is about as far away from what really made Miami great as you could possibly get.

I disagree. It did work and created a lot of buzz, especially with winning games. It did get in opponent’s head. But once it stopped working, and we started losing, it should have disappeared. Manny said in Orlando that the offense was going to have bling and I had the thought, “what if we are down big?” Wouldn’t that be counter productive?

This team and staph are awful. They need to be good with a high five for doing their job. It’s gotteb out of control.

I like that the players like it. It lights them up. I don't like the rings tho. I wouldn't wear a big *** gaudy chain but every one of the pendants is pretty sweet looking.

So you like that the players are treated as and conditioned to be children at the magic kingdom?

Tell me why didn’t our players in 2001 need some necklace to “light them up”.

Well, that's just your opinion man.. and I'm pretty sure I already said I don't give a **** about it.
