HaHa....be careful what you wish for Saban & Sankey. Now that they are sticking their nose into NIL, maybe Tuberville & his moonshine friends can also ask Congress to control coaches salaries & jumping from job to job when they wish.
Let’s be clear that it is the universities and NCAA running to the Govt asking it to limit how how players can make. The Govt was asked to join this fight by private institutions. While I generally agree with your point, this is not a fight the Govt initiated.Good luck. The coaches fall into the category of “people allowed to have money” by our government. People in that category can make as much as they want, leave jobs whenever they want and take whatever new job will pay them more. Players are still in the “people not allowed to have money” category. If they hire and agent, negotiate deals or leave a team for a better opportunity, that’s considered “selfish” and it’s “ruining the sport”.
Live look into Danny Miaz first jump..Every coach will be looking to jump to the NFL if their salary is limited.
You’re right, it’s not necessarily government who decides who’s allowed to have money. It’s society.Let’s be clear that it is the universities and NCAA running to the Govt asking it to limit how how players can make. The Govt was asked to join this fight by private institutions. And unfortunately in our society, it is lobbying that generally determines what Congress cares about. You’re right, it’s not necessarily government who decides who’s allowed to have money. It’s society.
