Blake James: Al Golden "perfect person" to coach Hurricanes

Isn't that the "kiss of death"? As soon as the support is shown, the firing is usually not far behind.

ADs love to hire their own football coach. Hopefully James is just blowing smoke.

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, we never seen Blake James fire anyone.

Dude's either a liar or delusional. What I saw Monday was the same kind of beat down by a team that is not as good as it was the last time it beat us down.

Golden got us through the whole NCAA investigation and I think he did a good job. However, he is not the right coach to get us back to national prominence. Even if James doesn't want to fire him, he will hopefully be pressured by the trustees to make a change.

This is the man who will be instrumental in selecting our next coach. I am confident he will wait too long to fire AG and compound it with a bad hire.

Hopefully this is just him saying what he needs to say, and not what he actually believes.

Well, he is tell a big old lie about team being better than last year and better at end of year than it is now, so let's hope he is telling a big old lie about thinking Al is the man for the job.

“That starts with me. Everybody’s got to be accountable,” he said Monday. “We all have to look in the mirror, take care of business, watch film and don’t make any excuses."

I'm not a Golden homer and that Louisville game was pretty inexcusable to lose after watching that game and realizing that Louisville is average and we were clearly more talented, and lots of to change, mainly offensively. My point is, the quote that I took from it above, that's the first time I've actually heard him blame himself and/or the rest of the coaching staff for a lose.
Still think he should be gone sooner then later, but if he can somehow turn this around come Nebraska time, and by the power of the Gods beat them, and somewhat convincingly, I may give him a chance to redeem himself for the rest of the season.
Point is, to me at least, he's finally not blaming, the cloud, the youth of the roster, or penalties, or the sky being blue for problems, he finally blamed himself and his coaching staff, so personally, I wanna see what kinda balls he's got to make changes here.

James was a lazy hire himself. Interm AD. He's probably in love with golden. He wont fire him

If any of you think James is the one making that decision you seriously don't know how our President runs things. He's the Kermit the Frog of UM with Shalalas hand firmly us his ***.

Normally, the dreaded vote of confidence is short and sweet. That was too detailed imo. He believes that crap.

He's said the same thing before. After the bowl game,

"Obviously disappointed we got beat in all three phases. There's no excuses. We didn't play well enough, give a lot of credit to Louisville they played really well, executed well. Again, it's my responsibility and disappointed in our execution in all three phases."
