Manny calling the defense would help but the underlying problem is the scheme. It’s not a Miami defense no matter how many times Diaz says it. No gap control, poorly coached, guys just running themselves out of plays or into blockers. While the second level plays extremely passive giving up easy completions underneath. How many times did Phillips just rush up field with no regard and get completely taken out of the play while the rb ran right past him. It was insanity. Bottom line is any team with good or equal talent and a good qb will feist on this scheme. If manny does fire baker he would need to hire a competent coordinator and let him run his own stuff. I just can’t see that happening. Manny will live and die with this scheme and his guys.
