The inability of the OL to get consistent push in the run game. The sacks are a problem, but there are so many ways to clean that up. Not being able to get a consistent push that allows our RB’s yardage before contact is a serious problem. We haven't been able to get consistent and reliable yardage on the ground which serious affects our down & distance. I am not talking about getting chunk yards on big runs. That is nice but without consistency, we get stifled when it counts. If we could rely on getting 4 to 5 yards on our running plays, it would open up the offense and the plays we can call. A team like Wisconsin will be tough to beat because their back gets 5 yards upfield before he even needs to make a move. That opens up so make that can be done. It makes their QB Coan look like a Heisman candidate. Williams is accurate as it is. Imagine if he could rely on our backs getting 4 to 5 yards on 1st and 2nd down consistently.

To me, the fix is simple. Use your perimeter players on short, quick, high percentage passes as an extension of your running game. If we’re not getting it done in the trenches in the run game or pass protection, that’s the most logical path forward.

I have zero faith that our play caller will make that adjustment though since he hasn’t done it yet.

Every football team in the history of the universe would love to get 4-5 yards a carry. There would be no reason to pass.

This offense is facing the same problem as last year. teams already know what's coming and are playing run first. No respect at all for the passing game. Enos answer is a Play action on 3-12.

Until Enos opens up the passing game or JW actually throws the ball down field no one is going to play pass D against us and the running game will be hurting as a result.

They have been getting push in the run game this year, they just didn’t do it vs central Michigan and we saw how that affected the offense

Our running hasn’t been consistent and reliable. It’s been feast or famine. We have been living of big runs. If you take away the big runs from out avg per rush I bet it would be high 2 to low 3 yard avg.

But Goofball Feeley was supposed to get errybody beasted up?? Murphy looks to be in the best shape of em all.

It’s not strength but mentality and correct use of leverage we lack. Our OL **** near stand up at the snap and “accept” the blow delivered by DL and then try to battle. We don’t fire off low and with purpose. I guarantee our OL is stronger and weigh more than CMU’s DL.

no They haven’t , rememeber we have had 2 60 yard runs or so called back in the first 2 games.

Also, because Eno's has HANDCUFFED Williams, I'm guessing that's why he doesn't take off running when his pocket collapses. And, some variation of the spread would also allow Williams to run on 1st or 2nd downs. Just a guess. So don't shoot the fool in the Hinterlands. hUh

****! Give the dude a break. It was probably a TYPO error, BOZO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop it! I am typing and working.

Respectfully, that creative writing course you took was a waste of money.

Stop it! I am typing and working at the same time. I will dummy down the words I use so you don’t get so sensitive.

Go back and look at the tape. We are not consistent on 1st or 2nd down runs. We will get a 4 or 5 yard run here and there but teams avg a good amount TFL against our running attack.

That's right. If my offense can get 4.0 yards EVERY time I run the football, then I will win every game I play.

**** OP. this has not been discussed at ALL in any thread since that last game.

Donaldson is a fat tub of blubber, Nelson is a turnstop, Scaife and Gaynor are a half second behind the snap. Strength Shmength! Getting blown off the ball by kids that wouldn't normally be provided a walk-on opportunity here SMFH. I'm already seeing Bama bukkakeing us about 66-7 in a couple years.... **** sad.

Nothing you mentioned demonstrates a lack of strength issues
