Biggest concern? What makes you go hmmmm?

Mertz quick game does not scare me. Guidry will confuse Mertz post snap and force him to throw into coverage or hold onto the ball longer than he wants.
People bring up "oh Guidry is blitz happy." While Guidry lost both starting DEs by week 2 of last year. Now his DL is fully healthy and upgrades. He won't have to rely on blitzing to get pressure. So now he can drop 7 into coverage if he needs to and dare Mertz to figure it out. Which I don't think he will.

For me it’s the Defense outside of Bain. I don’t rate these other players as highly as CIS in general.


Folks make it seem like we’ve got Alabama or UGA level DL with four first rounders…I don’t think we do yet.

I hear the chatter and the buzz guess I’m on wait and see mode with the DL and DBs. Optimistic but also very wait and see

We always overrate our players. I think the difference is that we have seen these guys play football. It’s not projection. I honestly don’t think we have a first rounder drafted this season. But I think we have a bunch of 2-7 rounders. A well rounded deep team.

But Guidry is a more with less kind of guy. I think he will have these dudes flying around
 
1: LG and Center
2: Secondary
3: So many new players - have they had time to gel as a team?
4: Communication on O
 
Just don't fumble the ball on punt returns or have some stupid alignment on punts that lead to a blocked punt that energizes Florida. Beyond that, we should be good.

Oline I have faith in given Mario/Mirabal, but there are a lot of assumptions they will be as good as last year and we have no idea what LG and C will provide for us.

We should be able to exploit their defense all over the place and on defense, we should dominate against turnstiles like Dameion George.

Coaching staff obviously, I have a feeling this team won't show up prepared on the road in week 1 and it will be a dog fight because of it. Honestly based off talent alone, this should be a 38-24 type win for us. Unfortunately this program struggles in big games week 1.
 
If we lose this game, our any regular season game this year (ACCCG included), we beat ourselves …period
