I can’t help but think about the luxury of us having richards, thomas, and pope next year like how explosive will the offense be with them three and others coming in smh...really just feels great to be a hurricane

Plus Homer!
Plus Hightower!
Plus Jordan!

It's gonna be cray cray!!!

GO CANES!!!

Why is everyone so enamored with talking about next year? This ******* team is 6-0 with legitimate chance to win the ACC for the first time ever and possibly sneak into the playoffs. But you guys want to talk about next season? Seriously?

langham is a senior? cager's leaving? mullins?
these guys are gonna be freshmen and have to beat out some experienced, older, stronger, faster guys before we start talking freshmen.

Wouldn’t be surprised if some of the backup receivers transfer either once they see guys passing them

Cager will probably be gone. He is suppose to be a big WR and he doesn't play big and with all of our WRs being about 6'2 plus Langham emerging as a big target

Your point is noteworthy.

That said, put me in the category that believes Mark Pope and Brevin Jordan get quality playing time as true freshman.

I get the excitement, but those players coming in from HS are 2 years away from making an impact. Lets be completely honest with ourselves. Maybe 1 or 2 are contributors next season, but it's a huge jump from HS to ACC football. And I know our 3 LBs made the jump, but that is the exception to the rule.

Agree 100%. For the TEs especially, since that position also requires physical maturity in order to be competitive.

Still, how exciting is it going to be to have all that talent on our roster!?!?!? 2019 and 2020 are gonna be special seasons, assuming our coaching core stays relatively intact. Not to discount 2017 or 2018, which I expect to be good to great but not necessarily special. 2019 and 2020 are going to be the real "WE BACK" seasons!! GO CANES!!!

T minus 350 days til threads start popping up declaring Pope and Lingard overrated for not being the leaders at their respective positions.

I just laugh at these sort of threads.
Just reminds me of people last year who were saying things like " Next year we will have Kosi and Thomas and Harley playing a lot and guys like Rosier , Berrios and Langham not getting any playing time."
As Dreadlox alluded to let's just focus on this season. It has the makings of something special. The future is difficult to predict.

Well, I agree we as fans should enjoy the ride. But lordy be, this team is legitimately stacked next year. We have to replace Berrios, McDermott, Herndon and Darling on offense. If Walton comes back, highly unlikely, then you have him, Homer and the #2 running back in the nation and the kid from Carol City. Even if Walton is gone that's some serious talent. Your only real issues on offense are finding a left tackle and a pass receiving tight end. Kid from Las Vegas is a stud. You have plenty of depth on the interior of the offensive line. When is the last time you can say that?

Got to believe McIntosh is gone. If he keeps up his play these last 6 to 7 games, he lands in the first round. If Norton comes back then you've got Bethel, Willis and Ford. Miami has crazy talent at defensive end. The linebacker corps will be experienced and deep. Unbelievable talent coming in at defensive back. Bandy and Dean are flashing. Jackson has stepped up his game the last two weeks. Young is playing shut down corner. Redwine is a nice surprise. Johnson is solid. Carter needs experience. We got a reps from Smith last game.

Because of the kids coming in next year our special teams should be much better especially on kick coverage.

We replace our kicker with a top 3 kid.

You mean just like Langham was probably gone a month ago.

Idiot porsters like you can’t wait to tell us who you think the next transfer candidate is so that later you can say you were right.

Fortunately, there are still games to be played and an unknown future. No telling if Cager starts to find his way this year or next, kind of like Langham.
