Big 12 fighting back

Where are they going to find the money to keep pace? The TV contract to stay afloat and create fan attention?

Oklahoma State and Kansas just feel like 2 more big 12 teams that could stick a deal with another power 5-conference. Then what? I'm going to be shocked if Oklahoma and Texas don't get to the SEC earlier because the conference implodes from within.
That’s their plan. And you and they would be right. OSU will go to the PAC-12 along with Kansas (I think it makes sense along with their basketball programs being a good fit).

I don't understand Cincy or UCF not just holding out for better options. Every conference is looking at the possibility of adding or losing schools. Why join a dying conference that's based in Texas?

Because where they’re at now isn’t doing them any favors. Atleast the big 12 will still have some P5 fairy dust on it and the comp is better. And the best teams in the American are Ucf and cincy. And then Houston and Memphis right behind. And you got 3/4 of those plus byu to give you some western Mormon flavor and you got a decent conference that’s better than the American and will make more money

I'm not sure there are going to be any "better options". SEC? **** no. Big 10? Maaaaaybe for Cincy, but I'd be willing to bet Ohio Taint wouldn't go for it. ACC? We're still waiting on Notre Dame.

UCF is about to make the jump. The big12 gives them credibility.
Does anyone know where they are headed? I heard that the commissioners of the conferences get to decide the power 5 fate or not of these teams going forward. So these 4 new teams will either be part of the absolute weakest power 5 conference of them all or will, without a doubt, be the most powerful conference in G-5.

Big12 has had best games I've seen so far this season. I'm betting one of Oklahoma State/TCU will be in the CFP discussion, and that game Saturday will be one of the games of the year. Tennessee and one of the above would be a great bowl game to watch. Texas will be playing some really good football by year's end of Ewers keeps growing. Big12 lucky they get to hold onto him for the next couple years

I think those teams are playing some good football and there are at least 5 of the Top 25 teams in America in that conference

Same story every year. They play these epic high scoring games against each other, then fall apart when one of them makes it to a playoff game.

So, basically, four of the schools that they arrogantly rejected a few years ago because those schools wouldn't "increase" the per-school payout.

Yeah, this is definitely going to turn out well...
Conference realignment has strange bedfellows, I see.

Actually they’ve been playing more defense as of late. Baylor Iowa state osu all play better defense than they do offense imo. Sooners hired a defensive coach. Texas isn’t bad on defense. They held bama with Bryce in the 20’s. Now Texas tech tcu Kansas don’t play a lot of defense

Did I miss the post on the ACC's preemptive strikes to consolidate its position as only better than the PAC?#?

More recent than the last Texas or Oklahoma national championships...

People joke, but UCF during those 2-3 years could beat anyone. And they had NFL talent on the roster. Big school homer fans love to joke about it, but they would have kicked anyones *** pretty much during those years under Frost/Heupel

While people clown and joke, UCF has made all of the right moves as a program for the last 30 years. They’ve gone from being 1AA playing in an old Citrus Bowl stadium, to winning BCS Bowl games, progressing through smaller conferences and moving/inching their way up into better conferences while winning conference championships, building stadiums, facilities and having brilliant marketing, selling out games every week etc. hiring the hottest most exciting coaches…..UCF’s athletics leadership over the last 20 years has been second to none.

So, I wouldn’t really question anything they are doing or any moves they are making. They’ve done it to success this far. And done it on smaller budgets.
