Benchmark Game: Will Dorito improve?

History says, **** no. We all know how FAU's up-tempo, no huddle offense, led by their 2nd string QB, chewed apart our defense the whole first half until they started turning over the ball every time they touched it (did we really 'stop them' in the 2nd half as many would say or did we just make a few big plays and get a bit lucky). We were confused and couldn't get aligned properly as well as make all the subs that Golden is famous for. Well, Cincinnati is also an up-tempo, no huddle team and is 1st in the country at nearly 94 snaps a game. To all the slurpers on this board, tonight's game we'll see if Dorito learned anything at all from the FAU game.

Prediction: lol dorito. We'll get toasted a good too many times and our D will be running around before the snap looking like some lost kids in Disney World. Kaaya and them boys better score a lot because I believe this O is going to shred our D. Game will probably play out similar to the FAU game, **** I wouldn't be surprised if we lost or even won big, who knows with this pre-school staff anymore- they're unpredictable.

We get more turnovers and points and win going away. My problem is with Coley more than Coach D at this point. Memphis did whatever they wanted against Cincinnati, and we should too. If we DON'T, it's because Coley outsmarts himself. We should convert 60+% of our third downs this game, at least, and get 600 yards on O. We should score at will. If we don't, that will be the reason we lose. Our D with a couple starters out is still better than their D. Now, what kind of game will Coley call?
 
Turnovers are a part of the game. Ask Vinny vs PSu... If that's what it took to win then that's what it is

I agree we haven't put together a whole game worth a dime yet.

I stand by my season assessment. Boom or Bust. We either double digit wins or we 4-8

Fck Dorito. I'm done with parsing blame to coordinators and assistants. This is the SS Folden that wrecked. It's all his.

These coaches are who they are and who they've always been. The product might get a little better here and there as the talent level fluctuates year to year. But they're bums, who will occasionally give you a 9 win year when everything falls exactly into place and then revert to 7 or 8 when there's any sort of drop in experience or talent or a QB who isn't a potential star like Kaaya.

We'll win this game big because Cincy sucks and they are way too careless with the football. They'll score some points and move the ball, but they'll give it away at key points.

canes cruise to a win in what COULD be Goldens last victory with Miami.
If this team folds next week, it could be a long time before they recover...

I mean, sort of.... This is Goldy's team, his vision, and thus his schemes. But Dorito is the DC and he'll be the one breaking down the film, coming up with a gameplan, and calling the plays. This isn't a defense of Golden, he's the worst out of the bunch, but how our defense plays on this particular night is more of a reflection on Dorito.

The problem with relying on turnovers is that they are very unpredictable from one game to the next, especially for a defense that isn't really designed to put pressure on the QB. Look at the 4th Quarter of the Nebraska team. Our defense could not stop them. I have a feeling that Cincy is going to put up a lot of points on our defense.

Relatively speaking, it is. Outside of Clemson and I guess Florida St. (not because of execution so far but because of sheer talent) we're not playing offensive juggernauts this year. What offense is as good or that much better than Cincy's, Duke-VT-Pitt-UVA-UNC? GT is a different story. I think this is a good indication of whether or not he can claw his way to 9 wins and potentially live for one more year.

I think how this team is a reflection of the 5th year HC.
 
Golden and Mark are the same coaches every day. The same crappy frigging coaches each and every frigging day. To expect anything more is akin to expecting Obama to walk over to Putin and kick the crap out of him. Just not going happen.

Didn't someone post earlier that this was Kaaya's offense. Forget that crap, Coley will call the kind of O that Fraulden wants, and we all know that Fraulden likes to protect his BFF.

What a bold prediction, i too see us winning or losing. But about your thoughts on the FAU game, good defensive football is all about making a play and gegting lucky, thats what separates the big programs. Everybodys got a scheme and philosophy that looks good on paper. "Everybody has a plan, (scheme) until you get punched in the mouth" to quote the great mike tyson. The players have to read the offense and make a play. They have to be coached how to, and put into position of course but it comes down to executing. This isnt chess.
