Beason on WQAM

By the way, they didn't stop making degrees from UMiami when they made yours, FYI.

Whoa. Lol. Except I never said I was the only one with a degree, did I? And I never said you didn't have one, did I? Nor did I say it ever mattered. In fact I never made a single remark about who had credible knowledge about the IM size, right? That was YOU. He who doth project too much. I was just responding to your unprovoked, idiotic, smug and rude and incorrect comment "you can tell the people that have been on campus, vs. the people that haven't during conversations like this" wasn't I? Except you were the one who had no idea how big the IM fields were and I wasn't. And whoops, I lived in Walsh and lived even more on the IM fields. You walked into that one, but you can't be wrong, right? You're one of those. Although I sure hope you don't have a UM degree, because if you did, mine just became less valuable.

The point I'm making is that Rad isn't going to settle for a mere moving of Cobb(I wouldn't expect him to), he's going to want to build a world class facility for the two programs that share that facility now. Which means that the facility footprint is going to be significantly larger than before.

No ****, sherlock. Which why we keep telling you to be patient and keep your tampon in until we see what Rad's actual plan is, right? You keep ignoring that response and keep attempting your mental gymnastics to try to pivot the conversation away from the fact that you (in an incredibly ****ish way) said the IM fields were only 2.5 football fields. Oh and then accused me of never having visited campus because I thought (know) differently. So the IM fields are ~80% bigger than you thought (talk about a swing and a miss) and you got snotty about it.

Parking. There's always that debate about adding spaces, because of the fact that parking is and will always be at a premium. I also wouldn't be shocked if the remaining space, after the facility gets built is reserved for another building project(A softball facility) if that program ever gets off the ground(which I believe it will). They would basically create an athletic village in that area, and once that happens, there isn't going to be space for anything else.

Ok, lol. So now your newest deflection is parking and softball? 🤡

First of all, Cobb is being MOVED. The ADDITION to the physical plant is an expansion of the IFP, Greentree, and a new football building. NONE of which will increase the demand for parking significantly. If you could park to walk to Cobb before you will be able to again, it will just be 120 seconds down San Amaro.

And now you're reaching for a imaginary softball program that is coming to get your IM fields? This is literally a fictional thing that lives only in your head. No one has said softball is coming to the IM fields. Wait you're up to a fictional "athletic village??" 🤡 What's next, the 2044 Olympic Park? :)

Geesh I wonder who your next boogeyman is.

Moral of the story: don't be a snotnose whiny know-it-all, especially when you don't know what you're talking about. Move on.

Actually, it's more like 2.5-3 full size football fields, and they can get packed out pretty quickly, especially in the spring. People forget that a replacement for Cobb is going to be more than just throwing a track around the IM field. You are going to have seating, concession and restroom facilities. You are going to likely have locker rooms and auxiliary spaces. That starts to take up a lot of room very quickly. Rad isn't going to halfass this and that's great, but people forget that a building is more than just the field of play.

You can tell the people that have been on campus, vs. the people that haven't during conversations like this. The space for the Towers is spoken for because they plan on building a better dining facility than the old dining hall, plus the new dorms. If this plan comes to fruition, I wouldn't be shocked if the IM program is moved to that open field over by Westlab(If the University owns it), or over by the Foote Green, which is the only other open green space on campus.

Bro, my guy was literally just on campus giving us a world tour of the temporary new weight room. Lol. I mean I hear u in general, but in this case, he was literally just there. Lol

School seems to be back to a full commitment to excellence. Great to see. Sidetracked for a decade and back on plan.
