Basic hiring guidelines

I won't touch on any one candidate in this post but I think you have to remember what Miami is trying to do with the program. According to multiple reports the school is going to invest more into the program and build up that infrastructure. I think you have to assume this means both physical infrastructure and personnel infrastructure. If Miami is attempting to rebuild its athletic program then it should hire someone that has experience doing exactly that. So which candidates have experience going in and building an athletic program and who are we considering?
Jimbo?

If we had a blank check or something like that. You know , no worries about money.

I would say we need to upgrade the locker rooms and hire a few analysts

I think one positive Nunez could potentially bring is his LSU experience. If I'm interviewing him I'd want to see from him in some sort of roadmap. I'm asking Eddie...Where are we now? Where do we want to be? And how do we get there? Typical consulting bs.

And you probably hope he comes up with some sort of 3 step process he'll be able to follow in building our programs:
  • Lean on Experience: You hope the 14 years spent at LSU has given him the roadmap in building a strong athletic department and he can effectively show this.
  • Focus on Process: You hope he was able to go to UNM and implement some of these processes albeit with limited resources. What did you get right? What did you get wrong? How would you change that moving forward?
  • And Execute: You hope he's been able to perfect his craft to ultimately execute on a grand vision that combines strong process with unlimited resources.
Your use of bullet points has sold me. If you can give me a solid 2x2 box decision matrix, we can probably open a consultancy right **** now!!

I might faint if Nunez brings in a binder.
