I think one positive Nunez could potentially bring is his LSU experience. If I'm interviewing him I'd want to see from him in some sort of roadmap. I'm asking Eddie...Where are we now? Where do we want to be? And how do we get there? Typical consulting bs.
And you probably hope he comes up with some sort of 3 step process he'll be able to follow in building our programs:
- Lean on Experience: You hope the 14 years spent at LSU has given him the roadmap in building a strong athletic department and he can effectively show this.
- Focus on Process: You hope he was able to go to UNM and implement some of these processes albeit with limited resources. What did you get right? What did you get wrong? How would you change that moving forward?
- And Execute: You hope he's been able to perfect his craft to ultimately execute on a grand vision that combines strong process with unlimited resources.
