Baker salary at LSU

Maybe Blake can do us all a favor and take the same style and effectiveness of Miami’s linebacker play to LSU. I’d love to see him coach all of their LBs up to play at the equivalent level of McCloud

Under Diaz, our linebacker play hasn't been anything special before or during Baker. Shaq was the only one that looked like he could play for most ACC teams and we were brining in better talent on paper than we saw on the field.

I've said it before, but we set them up for failure. Half the **** time they've got an OL player running downhill at them. That's not their fault, it's the scheme and play calling.

McCloud, he didn't live up to his billing. Nobody really has and that can't be all their fault. As the linebacker coach doesn't call the plays or design them, I'm not sure what could be done by the position coach. Very instinctual position and it requires a lot of read and recognition. That can be helped with game prep, but gotta be honest, we suck at that.

To be fair though, he was calling a defense that largely wasn't his. He didn't run the same defense at his previous stop and was essentially trying to do what Diaz would do with Diaz's scheme. I don't believe in Diaz's defense, not one bit.

So like another said, it'll be interesting to see what happens to him at LSU. They obviously see something or heard something in their interview that they liked. Say what you will, that's a legit landing spot and he's going to have a ton of talent to work with.

I kind of feel he was set up to fail as would anyone who would come here to run a Diaz defense. You're never going to do it as well as the author of it and if it doesn't work, you're the fall guy.

Baker actually has a good reputation as a solid coach who teaches strong fundamentals.... which speaks to your theory.

No lie, I’m going to be paying attention to him @ LSU. I usually don’t stalk former players / staph...but this is one of the more intriguing break ups we’ve had & where he landed.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I need to know for sure, if it’s Manny, his scheme, our lack of talent, or Baker that led to the embarrassment that was this season. I’m sure it’s all of the above, but seeing someone not under Manny, coach the same position is gonna be worth paying attention to.

How would you know from following his LSU career? He's not calling **** there. He's not the DC. He's a LB corch. He literally took a demotion because Manny snipped his *******.

To see LB play in general. If guys are still lost it’ll be clear he wouldn’t have thrived here no matter what
