Bain and Mesidor getting the respect

These guys are the setting edge as well as rushing the passer and stopping the run. Last year motion or anything outside was money for opponents . Watch Mesidor and Bain on runs . They turn blocker to take away outside leverage then walk them back to the run.

Bain is the best DL I have seen in college football this season and it’s not even close. If Bain stays healthy and continues to play like this, Bain will be the first DL taken in the draft

We’re firmly in contention, but we are a JS and another playmaker on defense away from natty favorites.

I don't totally disagree. But I think there is a chance those guys are on the roster. Moore, Fitzgerald, Lyle, Trader, Blount, Luca Gilbert.

Winning a national title is a 15 game season. Lots of time for for the young guys to develop and become stars for when they need to be.

there are no "favorites" this year which sets up nicely for us

to counter your point, we have Carson Beck, a 6th year senior who's probably a top 3 qb in college football where most other "contenders" have first time starting qb's
