Very aggressive defense, it will be a welcome change from what Miami has played to this point. I think it will translate well to Miami's current personal.

With Miami talent Diaz has the potential to be great.

Jedd Fisch was literaly the worst OC in the country at Minnesota in 2009.

Having Miami talent to work with actually made him look good.

add the south florida talent to this aggressive style of defense and we could be lethal on that side of the ball......mississippi state did this with average recruits...... we are sitting on a hotbed of talent

The only school I am worried about with this new scheme is Georgia Tech. The aggressiveness of this defense could actually be a detriment against that option ****
 
I'm really looking forward to what Diaz can do but Auburn was the 94th ranked offense last year and gained more than their average against msst.
 
It's true that auburn did some damage yardage wise, but it never looked like they intercepted MSTs play call and called the perfect counter to it. Based on that alone, I'm pretty excited. With the talent we have, Diaz just needs to get the guys NEAR the right spots and they will be greatly improved.

It's boom or bust with Diaz it appears from that film. Lots of tackles for loss but also quite a few big gains given up
 
That's a pretty unathletic group he's working with. Looked pretty slow and lumbering. Amazing they were as good as they were.

If Auburn had a speed back to threaten them with belly and jet and away, I think this game might have been different. I think he likes the linebackers to be reliant on the gaps more than the backs (Quarterback/Runningback exchange). He definitely loves to make certain blitzes for certain teams, each one he sends seems to be the best one to rush the QB. North Carolina is a offense that worries me with this tape.

A lot of missed tackles allowing those big gains. Guys in the right spot, just not making the play.

Being in the right spot isn't enough.

The difference with Al, imo, was that his players were always on their heels trying to tackle guys in space. At least our defensive players will be attacking downhill. Diaz's DBs have no problem coming up and swiping out your legs. When's the last time we saw a DB come up in run support, or on a bubble screen, and cut the WRs legs out from under him?
