Attendance today

Throwing numbers from California, I say about 40k butts in the seats. Not announced, but Keisters down.

I think they were selling tickets to employees at a $1 or something....so might be pretty full.

Why does that matter as long as the seats are filled and people are rooting for the Canes, win and the demand for tickets will increase, simple.

Miami fan attendance paranoia is funny. I wonder how many marquee programs have multiple threads every week warbling about attendance.

win, fill the **** stadium and hopefully miami kids will want to stay at home.

Win. Could have stopped at win.

The attendance thing has always been something the gator fan would yap about while we were killing them. Now, our fans have been conditioned to accept that weak **** and add it to their list of things to wowsy wowsy woo woo about.

When we were winning we still weren't setting any attendance records. Didn't matter. Doesn't matter.

Beyond hilarious. Last season the attendance theme was desperately pushed by the banner flying crowd every home game. Regardless of what the announced figure was, or what people who attended the game were reporting, that crowd mocked the number and crowd impression in every possible fashion.

Twelve months later we're told it's paranoia. I couldn't agree more.

Now the same types are paranoid about a report of some people fanning themselves in the stands.

Fear has never been so popular.

Some of you need to take a deep breath and relax...

Just think the players deserve a solid crowd. It's awesome fans have been supporting thus far.

Not everything has to be taken so seriously, life's too short!

I agree with you mostly but we haven't been a marquee program in a long, long time.We have been losing lots of local kids and some have stated game attendance/fan support as one of the factors.Having a full stadium will definitely help the perception of our program. Also,it could not be used against us anymore in negative recruiting.I can remember when we were rolling and playing in the OB that attendance was scarce until big games. Now,game attendance and a new perception may be needed to get us rolling again with the top local recruits. It's the high number of injuries that is making me paranoid.

From Matty Ports:

Those outside the stadium report traffic is congested around the stadium entrances, but nothing unusual for a game day. No major accidents on the highways.

Since I live near UM, I take 826 North. I usually take the Turnpike extension, but decided to go 199th today for a different look at the stadium. Looks good from any angle.

Also: the lots, a little more than three hours before the game, are very full. More so than in previous Septembers.
