as I get back to our hotel in Orlando (by the way, had a great time with the likes of 5NXNC, Big Randy, Stefan Adams and many other at the tailgate) Im not happy but unlike last year in Dallas, where I was totally depressed, here, I'm actually hopeful for the future but there's a lot of work to be done

Our young Oline gave up 10 sacks, and yeah it was ugly. Our two young bookend tackles were a huge liability tonight, no other way around it. But Jarren Williams needs to have a better internal clock in there, and the coaches(namely Enos) needs to drill into him that he doesn't have the 2001 unit in front of him. He needs to be reminded that chucking a ball out of bounds is better than setting up 2nd/3rd and 17. But I still like Jarren, this kid showed some stuff, he'll get better. I just wish we would have called more stuff to the backs out in the flat, and believe it or not, some bubbles. I saw too many long-developing plays where blocks had to be held upfront for too long.

I like Jarren, but for the time being, Campbell and Zion handfcuff us a ton. But guess what, I can live with that, yeah, Im getting soft in my old age. But this team showed its flaws tonight. This was a squad that needed a soft early schedule and needed some cream puffs as they grew their hair on their chest. But right now I had Zev Lumelski/J Ina, Matt Pipho flashbacks (that's for your 5XNC). I really thought we do more things to scheme around Nelson and Campbell.

Where have you gone Ricky Perry?

Enos has a vast playbook, but right now, he has to pare things down, and really focus on what we do well (2 TE sets) and build off that as the Oline jells. Coach Barry is really on the spot to have this unit upfront growing up, and quickly. Till this happens, what happened tonight will be the norm.

What's really frustrating is that there were points in that game, when UM was ahead, that if they could ever get ahead by 2 scores, I believed we could really start to choke out UF and put the pressure on them. But every time we were in those positions, there would be a fake punt, muffed punt, etc. That's where this game will gnaw at him.

But again, Rome was not built in a day. And I look back at some of the early games that I went to of Butch Davis (the opener at UCLA in 95), Randy Shannon (07, his second game where the Sooners destroyed us), and tonight, well, Manny Diaz will replay this over in his mind a million times, but I also saw some good things

Defense will continue to get better, in my view, especially when if/when our offense can really create leads

We came so close, but we are yet so far.

This was never going to be a national title contender ,but I still expect nothing less than 10 wins with this season. Yeah, Im taking a big picture approach to this

- OK, I was actually able to get seats on the 50 yard line, first row, and I have to say, seeing some of our freshman up close, they are really big, strong, physical looking guys. They look the part, I wanna see how these guys develop as football players

- Once again, had a great time in Orlando, always great to be around Miami fans. Let's keep our heads up, it'll get better

Hopefully

Agreed. Not hanging my head at all after this one. This team is going to be so much better in two weeks, and by the end of the season, SO MUCH BETTER.

We just need to find ways to win games from here on, while we get better. Losing is never ok, especially not to that team from up north nowhere, but this one sets us up well to find out what we’re really made of and get better off the backs of this setback.

Two weeks from now, we DESTROY UNC, and it’s off from there.

Jarren and that young oline are going to grow SO MUCH from watching this film with Enos and Barry between now and then.

We ****ed the game away. Plain and simple. The better team didn't win tonight and I think that's what makes this even more painful.

I saw some warning signs of bad coaching.....AGAIN. How on earth was no adjustment made on that O-line??? Namely, now was Scaife not moved back out to tackle to at least solidify one side and then keep a TE in to block on the other? We gave ourselves no chance.

Jeff Thomas needs to find his own ride home. After the drama he caused this offseason he basically pulled a disappearing act today and made some big plays.....for the Gators.

That missed field goal also possibly cost us the game. Only would have needed another field goal on that last drive.

We GAVE this game away. All I can say is there is even more pressure now the run the schedule. Zero excuse for that not to happen....we just ****ed away a game against a team we should have beaten who also happens to be the best team on our schedule.

I'll judge Manny at the end of this year...but if we don't make it to the ACCCG there will be questions that need answering.

The fact that that bena **** playing LT wasnt yanked and made to go wait on the bus for the second half tells you every thing you need to know about this **** pen of a program. It is just an illusion now, all smoke and mirrors, the echoes of the past just a dream, UM football is alive, but The Canes are dead. You are old now and diabetes will likely come soon, enjoy the time you have left.

One thing that was alarming was just how late plays were coming into our huddle, it caused at least a few delay of game penalties and TO's. That looked like the early years of Butch Davis, cant lie

Jedi,
I don’t think anyone disagrees with that. We had them on the ropes and if we could have ever gone up by that 2nd score, we win the game. We couldn’t get over that hump. If you would told me we’d give up 10 sacks and that many penalties, I’d tell u we lost by 50.

Our tackles did handcuff us. I felt like Enos made adjustments for our running backs to help the tackles out, but UF adjusted with pressure up the middle. I was hoping we would catch them on more short pass/bubble screens all night.

But at the end of the day, we are very young and it showed. I’m still impressed with how far this team has come since that Wisconsin game.

On another note, I was confused about not taking the field goal attempt on 4th and 8. If I had a defense playing like ours was and with UF so 1 dimensional, I’m taking points every time unless I’m on the 1 yard line or it’s 4th and less than 1. I can’t stand how Richt did that crap all last year with our bad offense. In the NFL, you take the points and play defense. Thats exactly how we are built. Our whole playbook would of been open, that put way too much pressure on a young qb/OLine for no reason.

I also didn’t understand the trick formations with Martell running short side of the field, but I’m sure they were trying to set something up. I just didn’t understand the timing and situation for it.

But I did see effort, coaching, and most importantly a talented young quarterback. The future is bright.

Not gonna lie.....but as of right now I'm not impressed with Enos.

I saw ONE **** shallow cross and it went for like 15 yards....and then....NOTHING. What makes it even worse is that's EXACTLY the type of route we should be running with an O-line this questionable in an attempt to get the ball out quick.

No doubt....but the lack of in game adjustments was honestly pretty alarming.

Newsflash....that's a Gator team that is going to end up losing 3,4 or 5 games this year.

How'd the end of his tenure turn out.

No one is saying this, but it’s tough to make adjustments with such a young and new offense.

Look at the first drive, fully scripted, well prepared. Rolled right down the field, till a mistake was made and Jarren got careful in the red zone.

After that, they had to pare it back some just to be able to get the plays off. Let’s not forget, we were on the road in this one. Crowd noise was a factor, and it was loud, a lot louder when we were on offense.

They don’t pick up that last flag, we may win that game. We don’t miss a FG, we may win that game. JT doesn’t muff that punt, we may win that game.

That was as hostile an environment, and the best defense we face for many weeks.

It’s called growing pains.

Not happy, but I am cautiously encouraged. We are way too young to feel entitled to win that game. But we had chances and the team battled all the way.

We’ll just have to see what happens next.

After all the changes on offense, our best play is still DeeJay in the wildcat

That was the single worst offensive line performance I've ever seen

Sorry but I disagree. ALOT could have been done to improve the situation by simply moving Scaife back out the tackle (solidifying one side) and then leaving a TE to help block on the other side.

There's cause for concern with Enos so far. I'll wait til the end of the year to fully judge him but I wasn't impressed with their in game adjustments.

No need to be sorry to disagree.

That said, we just got our QB two weeks ago. We’ve got no tackle depth, due to past whatever.

I personally like that the coaches are taking the long term approach, playing the best players at their natural positions. It’s worth acknowledging that it makes their jobs harder in the short term, particularly in game.

There’s going to be a lot of progress made from studying this film in the next two weeks.

I’m concerned what we’re going to see with short week preparations later in the season with this offense, but our talent gap with future opponents is going to be MUCH bigger.

We were the better team tonight, we just gave the game away. Anyone who didn’t expect that to happen at some point this season starting so many underclass men with a new coaching staff hasn’t been paying attention.

If we don’t see progress, I’ll join up on the ledge. For now, I’m pretty optimistic.

But this **** hurts, dog. Don’t get me wrong.

We had osgood wide open w a min to go on cross and Jarren didnt throw it or didn’t see
Him
Enos was fine, love the varied formations and motion....it’s light years from Richt vanilla RPO

We will be fine as Jarren decelops
He will learn to get rid of ball earlier as well to help oline
Everyone needs to relax we weren’t winnin NC this year

Just start by winning a game, that's the first step in 2 weeks. With this Sept schedule, there's a really good chance to build momentum and work on some things

Good read as always k9. Well said

That's a lot like trying to change your golf swing on the middle of the course. More likely than not, your whole swing falls apart. It's best to wait until the driving range.

I'm not disagreeing but I don't know if Scaife has worked out in spring and fall at tackle. I know he was serviceable last year at tackle but this is a new offense. Does he know the tackle responsibilities and taken reps to feel comfortable enough to play against UF.

Also, Jordan and Mallory seem more like receiver-type TEs. Do we have an effective blocking TE on the roster? Finally, whatever happened with the fullback? I understand offenses are moving away from use of the FB but if there is a role, it would be helping the OL when they're overwhelmed. The only RB trying to help out was Dallas and I would prefer to see him as an outlet.
