These small school players can be a hit or a spectacular failure. He looked really athletic in high school but he was just a big fish in a small pond. Samson took time to adjust as well being from a small school. But some kids take setbacks as a challenge, others wilt under the pressure. Trench play is especially tough. Everyone is as big and as quick as you. Players have to work on their bodies and then refine their technique.

He doesnt seem to be a weight room addict and that's always problematic in the trenches. Wish him the best

It was pretty clear on several occasions when he got burn that he had no idea what he was doing and couldn’t get lined up properly
When did he actually get some snaps? I'm legitimately asking because I don't remember seeing him in a live game. I'm well aware I could be wrong or was stoned to the bajeezus, but I'm pretty observant of line play.

Bethune second half, I only remember it because I saw 42 on the line and a guy who couldn’t tell his right hand from his left

Might have been USF. I’ll see if I can find it

Might be good in two years but this new Miami (**** the PTSD) doesn’t have time to wait for kids like this anymore
I agree but there are outliers. I absolutely trashed Ahmad Moten before 2024 and called him a bust. I was absolutely wrong. Took him 3 full years to figure it out. Now he’s a super stud. Maybe we were paying Jones a nice NIL though. But as some posters said, if he looked like he never belonged in the first place and never developed after 3 years....then time to move on.

IIRC, was Jones kind of the “savior” at the time at DT in that class? Scott was going to OSU and Blount was going to FSU. It was him and Russell I think. **** what could have been if we didn’t flip those two back.

I'm not the FBI, so need to do the detectve work. Those two games would make the most sense though. Appreciate the reply.

My only memories of the guy are seeing him always smiling wearing #42 in street clothes and looking out of shape.
