Are we in the mix for some big time safety prospects?

Romeo Finley out of Niceville has GT and Miami as his top 2. He's about 6'1" 200 according to Scout.

Perhaps we can wrest Jamel Cook away from FSU. I don't know if he'll end up being a safety in college, though. He may grow into an LB. But he's a good ball player from Central, so I hope we do end up with him regardless of his future position...

Probably others....

Other than what we have so far, who's looking at us?

I don't think we even want Finley. We haven't talked to him in awhile IIRC from a 247 article and FSU and UF don't him at all.

The two top remaining targets at safety for Miami are Jamel Cook (FSU commit) and Devin Studstill. The Canes are also taking "fliers" on Nigel Warrior and Romeo Finley. Both are considered long shots for the "U."

i dont see Cook as a safety prospect. He doesnt play it muc right now...if he does he would have to deal with a full redshirt year imo. At cb he pretty much will plug and play wherever he commits to.

Cook imo will be a god prospect despte people being down on him...their isnt much 6'2-6'3 190 growing on trees around...with good coaching he can be something. Similar to Cromartie who played wr/cb and looked better at wr in high school.

2017 safety class is stacked, would not mind seeing us take three that class. Safety is a need but I also think we need to be smart this (2016) class and focus on the Oline and Dline/CB/LB/WR, there is no way we should not bring in five OL and five DL. Some of our last year prospects on the line may need time to develop and IMO this 2016 Oline Dline class is one for the ages.
