APP State run D is legit Kaaya needs to step

Tennessee is worse than us in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I don't know how, but their OL is somehow worse than ours. App St was playing the run heavily and daring UT to throw and they couldn't. If Kaaya is back to being himself and makes them respect the passing game, we'll have much more success running on them that UT had.
 
Jalen Hurd is garbage. He'd be 3rd string at best here.

We have a stud in Walton and our OL is very good at run blocking.

Not worried about running. It's Njoku and WRs who need to really up their game
 
We may completely blow it on Saturday, but if so it'll be all mental. App's defense is nothing to be scared of...it's basically me x 11 with some good coaching. The talent isn't even close. So they can play with all the effort in the world, but the only thing that beats Miami this weekend is themselves. No excuses.
 
Mark Walton is going to run over 100 yards on them and our defense is going to shut them down.

I am about 5 minutes into the video...Every successful run (I consider this to be 4+ yards on 1st/2nd, and enough for the first on 3rd) was when #51 was either not in the game, or blocked. Seems to me that if we block #51 we will be fine running the ball. Don't think he will be a problem, and I'm confident we will run well in between the tackles by the 3rd QTR after pounding their small D-Line around and stretching the defense with some outside runs.

I'm sorry, but when a team runs the same plays over and over it is not hard to stop them. UT tried to win that game the most basic way possible. What I saw was an App State team that would struggle terribly with a team that could throw what is called a forward pass. We'll roll them unless Kaaya does his best Kenny Kelly impression, missing targets all over the place. Even still, our D will crush them.

Roadgrader Williams is an extra very mobile OL. That's a look App St hasnt seen this year's roster. He [Williams] is an important X factor to get (keep) the offense rolling IN CASE (no indication it will happen) the passing game isnt executing at Miami standard. Just get Cane O playmakers into space.

App St O isnt built for quick strike (notwithstandig Sproles-esque RB Cox), so game clock isnt their friend as Miami extends a lead into 3Q/4Q.

Miami executes...Miami rolls...young Canes get even more confidence as they look to open ACC play against GT...

Old Dominion has better talent and coaching than we do.

We got a scrappy bunch of overachievers, but we're going to have our hands full with those monsters from Boone. We just need to shorten the game and hope to sneak out of that den of torture with a win.

App State was very vanilla on offense and defense. Sun Belt teams were scouting that game hard and they felt they play too good run defense vs UT. Had to tone it down a little

App State was very vanilla on offense and defense. Sun Belt teams were scouting that game hard and they felt they play too good run defense vs UT. Had to tone it down a little

They were vanilla against UT too according to App Store fan. They'll break out the big guns once that grueling Sun Belt schedule starts.
