I do, especially with this team. He’s more of a wing (2/3) than a forward (3/4) imo, even tho he can play the 4. But we really don’t need him too.

Malik is a wrinkle in the equation because do they put Goode on the bench or nah. . . . But Dante doesn’t bring enough spacing with his elite POA defense to make him indispensable at the starting 2 spot. Shelton and Caleb should feel more than comfortable starting the break by themselves off a rebound.

Our model should be last year’s Michigan team that was top 5 in the country in assists. We can create a ton of easy buckets and dominate the paint with our various lineup combinations; utilizing inverse screens 1-4, and slashing teams up.

Adding Malik means somebody gonna land on the bench or just choose to transfer. Assuming they all stay, this could be an interesting lineup:

Can’t even comprehend the depth we have now. Just need the shooting to improve and this team is a real contender.

Also Goode can play SF? That would really helps with the PF/C log jam. I feel like Goode would’ve been a Center under Coach L lol

Goode can def play small ball 5 too. I think both him and Malik could end up playing the 3 in different looks for small amounts of time each game.

Caleb is the biggest winner imo because he is going to get most of his time as the 3. Not sure what this means for the starting lineup, probably makes it more likely Caleb will start at the 3 and Goode will be the sixth man.

Another winner of this is likely Robert Miller. From what I’ve found, he is the most comfortable off the bounce outta the three upperclassmen — Goode, Malik, and Miller III. From his high school scouting report, he was way more of a unicorn than he showed at LSU.

I didn’t see much off-the-dribble work by Goode in his highlights. Looks like he could be fine attacking closeouts yet idk how often doing so would be best for the squad.
 




He’d have to attack in a different manner than these transition coast to coast finishes; still, he definitely has the aptitude for it. He can shoot; we’d just need him to be more of a swingman and strategic while attacking closeouts.
