Any chance we invest in a competent qualified ST's coach?

no one is going to fix baxa if that's what youre getting at. he needs a sports psychologist

Now that I think more about it we really don't need a specific a "special teams" guy. I recall even in the glorious past we never had a special teams coach per se and had assistants pitch in. We just had competent assistants back then that actually cared to take time with it and give it the proper attention. We also had our special teams covered by starters and best athletes. I don't think we put our best players out there nowadays but that could be more due to depth issues.

Manny seems more proactive then past coaches.. Supposedly a sharp guy. Hopefully he has an understanding that he will lose this fanbase (and team) with quickness if he doesn't make some adjustments soon! ST seems like a good place to start.

Honest question, how could a coaching change make Baxa make an extra point or a chip shot field goal? I haven't seen the punt or kick coverage as an issue. I remember one long return and that was against Central Michigan which is not good, but it looks like an outlier.

Um maybe they can teach him how to actually kick?

When in our Glory days didn't we have a STs coach??

If you still think it's a kicking issue at this point, I don't know what to say.

It's clearly a mental issue.

adam V talked bout this when he struggled earlier this year. its a mental thing with baxa as it was w Viniateri. he even said he needed to get his head right. baxa has already stated he will be seeking help from the team psych

our ST has been fine. the punting game has improved and our coverage has been fine. the issues remain with the players (Thomas fumbling the punt against UF and baxa having brain farts).

The best cure is to make a decent kick, especially if there is pressure involved. That's how you get the confidence level back up.

Invest, competent and qualified are words that this athletic department will never be part of.

LOL. Man. This program is dead. No. Not happening. honestly, we don't deserve to be in a P5 conference. UCF is more committed to football than we are right now.
