Any chance the lack of back up qb time

Has to do with not wanting anyone to transfer out? Keep them fighting so they think they have a shot?

No, Saban is doing the type of thing a coach would do to try and keep his QB's from transferring. It's Richt's ineptitude that you're seeing.
 
The boys will get time this weekend. They better show out or they will be back on the 2-4 line. They show out and I think they are the starter against Toledo. That is another question I asked this in another thread, probably win with M'Weak or lose with Cade or N'Kosi? What's your choice?
 
Does anyone really believe it would have been a good idea to send one of the other 3 QB's out there against LSU the first game of the season in Jerry World?
Be realistic here. It would have been a deer in the headlights with any of the 3.

With all the QB transfers going on, it's a juggling act to try and keep all the QB's on the roster. I think you've got a great point OP. None of the 3 have shown they're ready so what are Richt's options?

for some people when those lights come on they shine

True. But my point was do you take that huge risk the first game of the season? Against LSU no less?

The next 3 games are perfect opportunities to see what the 3 have.

you really expect rosier to bring us back from 30-3?

I would **** near bet my soul welden would have came in there and tore **** up, we wouldn't have won but that's beside the point

Yeah, I believe this. Let's say you play the 3 freshmen and Jarren clearly looks the best while Perry and Weldon struggle. Typically, you've got a great "problem" on your hands: you've found a stud freshman QB. But given the state of our roster, it would be a double edged sword. Rosier graduates (thankfully) and I could see Perry and Weldon transferring. Meanwhile, Jon Richt is swinging and missing on our ONLY recruit at QB this cycle. Mark Richt would never say this, but he's aware of it and it's hurting our chances of winning right now.

Maybe. Maybe not. We have no live sample either way. If any of the 3 were put out there down 30-3 and s**t the bed, then what?

I think you can make a good argument either way. Richt is still trying to develop the guys behind Rozer. Part of that is building their confidence. I will give Richt benefit of the doubt here because he not only knows their talent but should know what they have between the ears.

I would rather win, but I don't buy your premise that Malik Rosier gives us the best chance to win. N'Kosi Perry has been in the system for a year. If he isn't ready now, he never will be. I'd like to see with my own eyes.

I'm still having a tough time grasping why you think we would probably win with Malik and lose with Perry or Cade? Have you seen Rosier? If Perry would lose so would Malik. But in reality regardless of the QB and experience we would win that game just by running the ball and check downs
 
CMR hoped that Rosier was less ****** this year than last and he would be able to have a 3-man QB battle next year for the starting job and nobody would transfer.

Obviously Rosier is just as bad so those plans are out the window.

Its probably also true that putting one of the other two out there against LSU would have likely resembled Dorsey vs VT.
