We finally caught a break today with the tipped ball that was caught by Harley for a TD. At that point I’m thinking…well, that usually happens to us, not FOR us, so it might be our day. But then Danny Miaz manages to take certain victory and somehow turns it into a defeat.

It’s like he has mastered the craft of ruining any momentum that the team has by horrible defensive play calling and all out incompetence.

As many posters have said on other threads, TVD bailed him out 3 weeks in a row. But not even TVD could completely keep him from himself tonight.

Negatives: Started slow offensively (17-0 until score just before half), Undisciplined (Penalties 14-105yds), Still struggle to make tackles (gave up 160 yards on the ground), 3 turnovers.
Positives: never quit and I continue to like what I see from TVD.
Time for coaching change. Don’t see it getting better.

Arrogance and pride sealed Diaz's fate. UM had all the momentum, a red hot QB, and 4th and 1 basically at midfield with 4 min left. Instead of acknowledging that his defense stinks and letting his QB try to win the game, he thinks he is smart enough to find a way to shut down FSU on the last drive and decides to punt . We all knew what was going to happen in a rivalry game. And if that isn't bad enough, after FSU carves up the defense and has the ball at the 1, he still thinks his D will miraculously hold and keep FSU out of the end zone. He couldn't stomach the thought of letting FSU score and saving timeouts so UM could get the ball back because it would be an admission that his defense failed yet again.
