That pass interference call was a good call if you look at it solo, in comparison to how football games are normally called. No question if you just show a clip of the play to a typical football fan it will be judged as pass interference.

But the entire game the referees had established that contact of that type would be allowed in the secondary. That's why the defensive backs got increasingly comfortable playing it that way. It is the reason the other referees did nothing except wave incomplete. Then the one idiot in the back row decided to change the rules in the middle of the ball game, or actually when it should have been over.

The ref standing 3ft away signaled "Incomplete Pass"....4 seconds later a flag comes out of the back of endzone...while UM players are celebrating and cameramen are already on field....PI my F-ing ***....

@Andrew I know Glenn Sharpe...and have had this convo add Nauseum...The WR (Gamble) told Larry Coker, who was on a recruiting trip at his HS the next yr...."Coach Coker...I just Dropped it"

It was not a good call. The pass was tipped by William Joseph at the line. I still believe the umpire had the call right but in the chaos that ensued the crew never got together to figure it all out. They just went with the flag. Watch the play. Joseph tipped the pass at the line. The ball was rotating end over end after. I know somebody from the sideline said Greg Mark was incensed but couldn’t get anybody’s attention in the chaos of the moment.

******* Terry Porter .... a total douchebag well known for bad calls ... NO WAY that play was PI .... even ray charles could see that

Oh....and btw...Terry Porter owned/owns a Bar in Columbus....

I'm sorry but that sounds like complete BS. As bad of a call as it was, I'm sure Porter didn't own a bar in Columbus.

College football officiating is a full time job. Even during the offseason, you have to learn about rule changes and watch all kinds of films about what's considered to be good calls and bad calls. (Hopefully they show film of Porter's call as a bad call.) You can't own a bar and officiate NCAAF games. This isn't high school football, where somebody does officiating just to get another $20,000 a year aside from their regular job.

Hey Azzwipe...its 100% FACT....Dont question me F-Boy....

I suspect you expect us to believe that you also know Glenn Sharpe, and that he told you what Chris Gamble told Larry Coker?

I'm sorry, but you're rather FOS on this thread. Porter made a terrible call, but there's no need to make things up about Terry Porter owning a bar in Columbus or Chris Gamble admitting to Larry Coker it was a terrible call during a recruiting visit.

He does know numerous former players and coaches. Also, it's been said for years that Porter had connections to taint/Columbus.
It was a horrendous call, I was jumping up and down screaming for at least 10 seconds.... and then.
