2016 RB Amir Rasul is supposedly reconsidering Miami & is now 80% commited to FSU according to both 247sports & Rivals. He gave an interview today out in Cali at the Sempre Fidelis AA Game practice saying he now wants to visit UM, USC, Bama and UNC.

Funny thing is Rasul is currently the only running back in FSU's 2016 class since they missed on landing Walker (committed to Michigan). I am thinking this could be a ploy to gain some attention from schools and get some more love from FSU as well. HE seems to like the attention and being a solid commit to FSU for a while, he has become an after thought so by shaking things up he knows he will get everyone's attention.

But lets see what happens in the next month, because his type of speed (4.3sec 40yd & 10.44sec 100m) you don't close the recruiting door on.
Speedy 2016 RB Rasul Commits To Miami

kids an average RB but an elite athlete.
That's what everyone said about Dalvin Cook. Give me the elite athlete all day everyday. You can coach him to be a RB.

No one said that Cook was an avg RB, but there were talks about him having a higher ceiling as a DB

Amir has elite track numbers, but avg/below avg. production in hs. People have known about him since his days with the palmetto raiders, where he was then known as "soft", but fast. He won the 100m in the junior Olympics in 8th grade, IIRC.

Here's a comparison against the kid that everyone wants to drop. Keep in mind that South Dade played a tougher schedule.

Amir Rasul 132 767 5.8 10

Jawon Hamilton 131 1259 9.6 16 .

Exactly . Anyone with a brain knew Cook was the goods.

Rasul is nowhere in that dudes stratosphere .

He ran for less then 800 yards his SR year. If he wants to visit fine but there is no way I sweat this guy. Elite athlete with great size but you gotta scratch your head at that production. Shocked FSU hasn't dropped him.

Did anyone watch Baylor dismantle unc with nothing but pure speed last night? Texas tech hung with lsu in the first half by getting the ball to a 5' 6" kid with incredible speed. We haven't had that in a few years but I say if the kid can fly bring him in and figure out how to use him. The only time we should recruit a slow running back is if that back has clear intangibles (i.e. His tape jumps off the screen).

Cook looked like one of the best rbs I've ever seen. Rasul is just athletic af but not a pure rb

We need to get back to having speed and nasty attitude.

Too bad he doesnt havr a nasty attitude..kid is soft..... disappeared in games, he lost that 4th star cause he did not have a good year. he is a average RB at best, but his speed is what stands out... I jist dnt think CMR will pursue him..and when it comes to RBs, i trust his Judgement (Gurley,Chubb,Michel)

Kid didn't break 1000 yrds this year. Unless he had an injury causing him to miss parts of the season, I wouldn't stress over him....

I was a huge Rasul supporter at the beginning of the year. But then the guy comes out and runs for 800 yards his SR year????? 80 ypg?? And people are putting him and Cook in the same sentence?? Please stop. Let him visit because he is a specimen but please do not chase this kid. He is boom or bust type. No in between.

I said it in another thread..wouldn't be shocked if he pulled a "Marvin bracy/Xavier carter"...quit football once he finds out he can't hack it at that level and focuses solely on track.

I'd rather just take Hamilton, IMO. I'm not an expert, but it doesn't sound like many were high on Rasul when he first committed here. Hamilton seems to be a bit underrated and I would like to hold onto him. Only way I'd want to push Hamilton is out is if we were in play for Aimes.
