Name has been mentioned. I've done some research. Local guy, been successful everywhere he's been from player to coach. Put guys in the league from a small school.

He's definitely maximized his opportunities. Has to get credit for that.

His resume is good but guys on here are gonna be ****ed if we hire a no name.
Personally idgaf. If the dude is good at evaluating talent, can develop the talent, easily relate to the kids, and can instill in them great work ethic and selfless attitude, we should be in great shape if he is in fact the choice.

Tyron Carrier is very intriguing however...

How is the resume good? Local is the plus and from Miami with Bayou connections. Maybe we found something but there's no way you can look at that resume and not think it's light?

He's never been an actual position coach in Division 1 for instance. He was like an assistant to the assistant at LSU like the guys Lashlee is bringing with him from SMU

And I'm not even talking down about the guy.

I wonder if he's related to Webster Slaughter, one of my favorite players back in the day on the Houston Oilers.

I think this is his grandfather

Who he put in the league ? And can he recruit?

I have no idea if he can recruit but he did have some very talented teams at Pace HS, so someone did a good job of recruiting players to that program....was it him? He also coached for Mark Guandolo, and he's from Carol City, so he knows the area....not my no.1 but we could do worse.

Pace recruits itself. The basketball program was more loaded than the football program

Really? How have they fared these last few years, especially against the other private schools in the area? Serious question as I haven't had chance to follow them much these last few years.

I havent kept up with them the last cpl of years. Dynamic has changed with free agency in high school football.

Every great player they've had recently got poached.

2021 5-star Safety James Williams was originally at Pace then went to AH & Western.

Divaad Wilson was a Pace kid too before he went to MNW.

So was Jahmar Brown class of 2019 LB that signed with South Carolina, he's listed as a STA kid but he was originally at Pace.

Since Zaccheo left they struggle keeping their talent.

*Already posted this in the other thread, but figured I would post it here too*

Slaughter coached a bunch of good players at Pace, including our very own Demarcus Van Dyke, Stephen Morris & Kayvon Webster.

He was also at LSU for 3 years under Les Miles as an assistant to Adam Henry & Frank Wilson. Adam Henry coached Odell Beckham Jr & Jarvis Landry at LSU, he also coached them in Cleveland & just got hired to be the Cowboys WR's coach. He brought Slaughter up to Cleveland with him as a coaching intern for a season.

Slaughter is actually an upcoming rising name in the business & talked about as the next coach to get bumped up from the Southland conference & into a D1 program.

Not my first choice as WR's coach but would still consider bringing him in as an analyst & let him get acclimated for a year or two.

So he will be our new WR coach. Got it. ✍🏾
